For me it's the 1.90:1, Laser or UK's biggest screen plus the insane 12 channel Imax sound.

What do you mean? are you referring to the "fake IMAX" screens? Cause, there are still actual IMAX screens across the country and globe (?) that will show IMAX shot movies in full IMAX.

Nobody says everybody that didn't like LAST JEDI is sexist, or that everyone who hates GHOSTBUSTERS is sexist. Just that a sizable proportion of the haters are.

I didn't like GHOSTBUSTERS very much. At no point did I ever feel personally attacked by articles calling out sexists for their attack on the film.

If you hated LAST JEDI, and you hated GHOSTBUSTERS, and you hated OCEAN'S 8 - and hell, if you're super mad that the next star of DOCTOR WHO is a woman - and you take articles talking about a certain aspect of those productions' criticism personally - maybe, just maybe, you need to look at yourself a bit.

Not a single person actually thinks they're a sexist, and yet weirdly there are plenty of sexists out there.

I'm aware the "actual" IMAX screens still exist. I'd be surprised if they tore them down just because the number of movies shot in what I'm guessing you're referring to as "full IMAX" has dwindled.

What was the last movie you paid IMAX prices for and saw in "full IMAX"? Mine was probably "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" in 2013. Movies shot with any 70mm IMAX scenes are few and far between. I couldn't tell you the last time my local "real" IMAX theater (1.43:1 aspect ratio) saw anything projected on the bottom 1/4 of the screen. Even when something could ("Dunkirk"), distribution has taken a hit and they aren't receiving the "full IMAX" version. I still remember years ago when a theater employee came out to apologize to the theater for not receiving a film print for an IMAX movie and letting us know almost nobody received one.

I'd be surprised, but I hope so. It's a decent chunk of Wal-Mart's 4K shelf space to take up without a studio-supplied display. I bet Best Buy will get space dedicated closer to Fallout's release, but it's still a little odd that they are selling the last two and then "Jack Reacher" before the first three. Really, "Jack Reacher" gets a spot before another "Mission: Impossible"?

Then to gall to say "**** you" to the studio who did an incredible job on the releases. You're part of the problem.

Oh look, another cheapskate who wants everything for free. It's like the stupid Star Wars fans bullying actors off social media because they didn't get the movie THETY wanted.

It appears all the initial haters who swore these would be terrible presentations with "DNR" (as people who have no clue love to throw around) are upset they are actually fantsastic releases, and have to find something else to complain about. So it's cost, when though the quality and care that went into these discs are well worth the price. Outrage culture just has to find something to b*tch about 24/7.

What a sad and sorry world.

Once again my main opposition is towards not having a box set I don't want to look around for individual releases. It makes no sense on Paramounts part not to release a box set. I own the Matrix UHD I would have much preferred to pay the extra $$$ and buy a box set. Box sets for me is always better than individual releases, you are right I shouldn't have made a stink about the price I am 100% for physical media I have never streamed a movie in fact I vomit at the thought of watching a movie on my phone. One reason I do complain though is that the mark up on releases because they include a digital copy I would like to know how much the MSRP is marked up because the digital copy bit I would say I am paying at least $5 for a digital copy I DON'T WANT. I know their is no winning that fight but studios throw a shit fit at the idea of people selling their digital copies on ebay and want to control everything a consumer does

Received 1-4 on Saturday from BB....still waiting on Rogue Nation to ship. Got a chance to watch M:I last night and it looked fantastic. A HUGE leap over the blu-ray disc for sure. Glad to see Paramount finally taking their time to do worthwhile upgrades

Dunkirk was the last, I've been fortunate enough to see 8 15/70 features in their native environment plus another 8 movies blown up to 15/70 (back when they were still doing such things on a regular basis before LieMAX digital took over, the blow-up for Rogue One was most unexpected).

Yeah, that's about what I was thinking, too - the 70MM IMAX version of Dunkirk definitely didn't get as wide of a distribution as they once did. It made me wonder if some of these theaters got rid of their film projectors.

Rogue looked luvverly, it makes me do a sad that Solo wasn't afforded the same opportunity though, it's just got that large format clarity to it (having been shot on Alexa 65 kinda does that).

FYI: as of this afternoon, some of my local locations now populate the first 3 movies as being ‘ on order’ at BBY. Usually this means stores should have them in the next couple of days. They are also showing up on planograms too. Soon certain local BBY stores should have all 5 in stock. There must have been enough online orders for them to order for store sale.

Just got an update that MI2 (my least fav. Is the only one with esitmated delivery date of Friday.

Kind of not what I wanted... i’m sensing all 5 are gonna ship by themselves in yellow padded envelopes

Ugh

And its nice to know there is a chance Best Buy is getting these but I also dont want to go on road trips seeking them all out.

This is what I get for NOT pre-ordering months ago

From the Rogue Nation review
Quote:
Though the movie was shot on digital, it boasts a fairly nice grain-mimicking texture that sees this one pass for film much more closely than practically any other digitally sourced image out there.
Detention, Mr. Liebman! DETENTION!!!

[Show spoiler]It was shot primarily on film.

Anyone recommend using Walmart.com shipping?

All of the titles I look up seem to say they can deliver to me Thursday Free shipping... so they would have to be in stock and I'd imagine if I got all 5 they would ship in a box right?

Can't be much worse than a yellow bubble mailer from amazon right?

I can only assume he went to the IMDb Technical Specifications page, saw that the first camera listed was the Alexa 65 (because every section is organized alphabetically) and jumped to the conclusion that the film was shot digitally despite the rest of the page clarifying that digital was only used in some scenes.

Checked on Brickseek and it seems like Walmart may have Ghost Protocol 4K and Rogue Nation 4K in store. It's not showing any stock at the moment, but it is showing store price of $19.96. Strange that it's showing this only for the 4th and 5th film, similar to Best Buy. No love for 1-3 lol
