Wasn't there talk of a sequel a few years ago?

This is a film that really stood the test of time.

There was, but I think it fell apart. In addition to the complication of getting the cartoon characters from other studios, if I understand the situation correctly, the rights to Roger and the charcters original to the story are actually shared between Disney/Touchstone and Speilberg's Amblin Entertainment. And those two companies were not seeing eye to eye on things or something akin to that.

Honestly it's something probably best left alone anyway.

To this day, this stands as Robert Zemeckis' best film. 1988 was a very strong movie year, and this was one of the very best.

It’s crazy to me that he made the excellent first two Back to the Future movies & Cast Away, and none are his best movies.

I loved this movie as a kid. Watched it as a teenager and hated it. Revisited it a few years ago and realized it's a legit classic.

I like part 3 more than part 2. It's pretty much the only western I'll watch. (Unless you're one of those that count Logan as a western.)

I also think it's his best film and I forgot just how strong 1988 was for a year in movies. Can not believe it's 30 years old. God I am old.
