Yeah, I think Double Impact is the winner. I think titles like Desert Heat and Legionnaire are a little too unknown to the masses? I bet a lot of people that grew up on theatrical Van Damme don't even know what they are. They'll probably invest their money into something that will sell better. Then again, they did release Abominable so anything is possible. I assume that movie got heavy tv rotation back in the day and gained somewhat of a cult following?. I said, I wouldn't double dip on Legionnaire, if that was the title, but who am I kidding? I'll have to get it.

Here's some I'd love to see, I think I mentioned them before but I never heard one way or the other if they are possible. Since I'm not someone that's super familiar with who has rights and what MVD can release, so can someone tell me how likely each of these are? I put the last company to release it on DVD after the title

The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle (Shout)
Get Crazy (N/A)
SLC Punk (Sony)
Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains (Rhino)
Times Square (Anchor Bay)

Speaking of Van Damme, and as one of those people who has no idea what entity owns which rights, is there any chance someone could release Time Cop?

Alcon Entertainment bought the Largo Entertainment catalog, they made the Point Break remake, Alcon currently has a distribution deal with Warner Bros., Shout! Factory has access to Warner Bros. titles, so there is a good possibility they can do something with TimeCop, I am thinking the Cyborg Collectors edition sold well for them, so I think they should peruse getting TimeCop and Bloodsport from WB and giving them the CE treatment.

So if we see an announcement from Shout! regarding Dr. Giggles (also another Largo title), then definitely they have access to TimeCop.

I would double dip on all Van Damme if it got the MVD treatment.. The packaging alone is worth the price of admission.

I would be in for just about any Van Damme or Lundgren.

On an unrelated note, I also am fond of the trashy 90's Basic Instinct knock offs so if any of those would fit under any of the other lines, I would go in for those as well.

I think Desert Heat (inferno) is at least more recognizable, especially since it is/was a Sony title that extremely wide distribution on DVD thanks to being available at Wal-Marts everywhere upon initial release. Legionnaire on the other hand was a title that took some hunting down, plundering though DVD bins is not always the easiest thing.

More Lundgren is a good thing.

Also, even though it's an impossibility for MVD, I would love to have access to more Sonny Chiba on Blu.

So...who owns the rights to Inseminoid (aka Horror Planet)?

I'm surprised that VHS/DVD Alien rip-off staple has been AWOL in the nlu-ray era. Would be awesome if MVD Rewind is able to put it out.

Looks like some company called SGL Entertainment owns the rights. Go for it MVD!

Hmm, found this while digging through their site:

Quote:

Hmm, found this while digging through their site:
SGL is a bootleg label. Their "catalog" lists a bunch of films that they definitely don't hold any rights to.

came out on vhs/beta in 1989. one of the last new releases on one of my video stores. it was 29 years ago.

according to my competitor he owned a video store. 28 year old wasnt even born yet.

I recall Phoebe Cates got the part over Mary Stuart Masterson. Cates fits the part better. Masterson is all wrong. MTV kept talking about the film.

my beta and vhs box is in better shape than this image.

As far as the existing inventory, the first time around, we did a pretty good job of isolating the inventory and catching this thing. This time around I suggest anyone waiting to buy this to just buy it now and IF you get a copy with the bad audio (on theatrical version only) disc, just email with your POP and ask for a replacement. I'm so sorry this happened and I have put new processes in place to hopefully avoid this happening again. I really appreciate everyone's patience and kind words.

When Leon asks the doctor if they caught the people that set his brother on fire the doctors responds with "Yes Mr. Gaultier, I believe the police have them in custody" and then say's "The guys who set him on fire might have been rival drug dealers. They might have been customers, that he sold some bad stuff to. They might have been kids playing a sick prank. We may never know. He was too delirious to tell the police much of anything"
