I cannot say with certainty, but my guess is there won't be english subs, not even french one as the movie is in french. I'll ask the parties involved next time I see them (as the disc have been announced, but this part of the tech specs is not verified anywhere as far as I can tell).

When will overseas companies learn not to deal with the Weinsteins anymore? How many films have they screwed over by buying North American rights and then a) re-editing them, b) releasing them to DVD only (no theatrical or now, no BD) or c) letting them rot in the vault for years?

I think there's truth in your statement, but I also believe that there's more involved than money. Wouldn't a company be better rewarded by having their films and talent exposed to a bigger audience through theatrical releases? Why have the film witheld from the North American market to be dropped onto DVD only, usually with a banner saying something like "Dragon Dynasty!" or "Dimension Extreme!!"

I read on B-D.com that this is coming April 28th, but the US is not getting the bluray, only the DVD. However HKflix.com has it listed as a region 1 title with English audio and subs. Does anyone know if this is mislabeled or have any other info?

I think it's a mistake. The Weinstein Company is listed as the distributor.

The thing i wonder is, on b-d.com is says that if u want the blu-ray you will have to order from hkflix.

I didnt know about that place before, what country is it? Or are they like xploited with titles from all over the world? Or is hk simply hong kong flix?

They're just like xploited, imports from all over. They're a great site, good customer service from my experience, although prices can sometimes be a bit much.

Oh cool. I really need martyrs with eng subs. This title was supposed to be out in feb, then march, and now late april. I hope someone somewhere releases this on BD.

Just got the french Blu-Ray, it's really good looking, a nice VC1 encode at around 24-27 mbs, very grainy and film like (the movie was shot in 16mm so just don't expect Imax like clarity). It's a tad dark, but nothing you can't solve by cranking up the contrast on your set. Better than other movies released with the whites all burned.
All the bonuses are 576p, some of them in 16/9, others in 4/3, so beware if all you have is a NTSC capable screen.
No subtitles.

Hello,

If you are an English-speaker then the upcoming Optumum release is what you have to opt for. The preliminary info, however, indicates that the disc will be Region-B locked.

Well i watched this the other night and I am still reeling from it. Not sure what to think. I absolutely loved the first half of it. Found myslef wondering where they were gonna go from here the whole time. The second half really didn't appeal to me that much. I checked the display on my PS3 to see how much time was left in the flick and it was about 5 minutes and I thought "this ending had better be awesome in order for this movie to redeem itself from the last half". Well, then it ended, hahaha. Those who have seen this movie will know why this movie has left me feeling a little odd. Everyone who is a horror fan should see it. Some will love it, some will hate it, others will be like me and not know what to think. I don't know if I'll be buying it on Blu when it gets a release or not. I still don't know if I liked it or not, lol.

Jen, she keeps talking about it since we watched it just last night *LoL*. maybe we'll decide if we like it or not as well..

probably pick it up on blu-ray for the hell of it..
