Stranger Things: Season 2 4K Blu-ray

As expected Target is continuing the trend in 4K. Hopefully with HDR this time.

I definitely agree!!

Maybe... just maybe. The picture shows three discs this time rather than two per season.

The price is cut off... the 4k set is $29.99. Who knows about Black Friday pricing.

Though, you notice that once again the title was just dumped in our laps without any pre-release press statement or anything mentioning specs. It just POOF! appeared right before the release date.

Can't imagine why anyone would buy this day 1 considering how low the price for season one has gone. Not crazy about that cover either.

The 4k cover will probably be different. Black Friday may change the price on both since both sets are coming out at the same time this year. Last year the 4k came out a little later and past BF.

As you may recall, the regular 1080p set was $10 on BF. It's possible the 4k set could be $15-$18 if they do the same thing.

It's the specs that will draw me or push me away. No more half-assing things!

Because I want it now? Because considering how many copies of Season 1 are still instore, the print run on this season may be lower?

It’s hideous. As long as it has HDR and lossless audio I dont care how the packaging looks

Well that came out of nowhere. Glad they kept the VHS box size though so it matches on the shelf with the first.

Man this caught me by surprise. I don't see it on their website though unless I'm missing it.

How was the Season 1 4k? Never saw it at the stores here or even knew about it. Judging from the review on this site it's not all that great

Rec 709 colors rather than a Cinema P3 gamut wrapped in a Rec 2020 container like most 4k discs, no HDR grade, and lossy audio. Overall, the regular Blu-ray was better as it had 24 bit lossless audio. The only thing going for it was that the 4k release was 10 bit rather than 8, so not as much banding.

Hopefully, Netflix doesn't strike again.

Haven't watched the first season that I purchased on 4k for ~$5, but I'll still get this and probably not watch it too.

I'll get the 4k for s2 eventually but I'm in no rush after what happened with s1.

It's for real. It just hasn't been posted yet. Target is notoriously bad about announcing all things Stranger Things. Netflix didn't learn anything from last time.
