With or without Tate they are only a 7 win team this is why you make the trade. Lets also not forget with loss to Dallas and Seattle they are now out of the Wild Card. This is a move for the future.

Apparently I can't have a difference of an opinion without you insulting my football knowledge. Look at the division, we're basically a game back with a lot of season left. Not that hard. So they trying to win or just be cool being average? YOU'RE acting like Detroit is 1-7.

OK look at there next 9 games

Chicago 2x
Minnestoa 2x
Green Bay 1x
Bills
Arizona
Carolina
Rams

If you want to talk then stop looking at things so 1 dimensional. Lets say Green Bay finishes 9-7-1 which means Detroit would have to Finish 10-6, Detroit is currently sitting AT 3-4

We can assume they will beat Arizona and Buffalo

We know they are not beating the Rams and Panthers so now that's 5-6

We can assume they will split with Chicago and Minnesota so that's 2 more losses 7-8

And they wont beat Green Bay in Lambeau so that's 7-9

Which means they have to sweep Minnesota and Chicago and Green Bay to finish 10-6, which is not happening. Guess what does not matter if Green Bay finishes 9-7-1 the tie moves the Lions to the wildcard and now they lose out because of the loss to Seattle and Dallas.

Its division champs or nothing for them which isnt happening and they know it, Quinn's job is to build for the future not make you happy now.

They are planning for the future, this season was always an 8-8 season. Hence why the trade was made and it is a good one for next year.

But anyways, if you want to keep being a typical jackass, sure, listen to "experts" and pundits, but any one of your PROJECTIONS means nothing. Injuries, streaks, whatever else will send everything in a frenzy. We have a solid team now that should be able to be competitive in any game, but let's settle for 8-8 and be like Dallas. That's one hell of a plan!

We can beat any of our divisional does. We already beat GB, we can do it again. Detroit was the only team to beat Minnesota at their home last year. But, oh well, 8-8!!

its not settling if there is a clear plan. This isnt expert projections its my thoughts based on common sense. Quinn gave the Lions 6 games to show him something. Had the Lions not come out looking like ass against Seattle this trade isnt made.

Packers got a 2020 7th round in the deal, so it's fairly certain they had made the decision to move on and would have cut him if a trade hadn't materialized.

My thoughts exactly, they were clearly desperate to unload him no matter what. Hope he can be more disciplined in Baltimore.
