After 35 years of working I was able to put aside some savings for a few TV buys. And my Atmos Bubble. Most all my TV's brought at great wonderful discount.

Oh man... Was waiting to see if the 75" would drop and I'd totally take it at $4,500 and it's currently sitting in my cart but it isn't showing as available for delivery in my area.

It's showing as only available for delivery, and not available for delivery in my area. I don't have any other area to deliver to.

Bummed I missed out on it. It appears Sony may have dropped it that low officially as it's that price on their site without any clear "holiday sale" sort of monicker but the only place reflecting that price besides BestBuy is B&H and I don't know if they're reputable.

Southern Maine, little more than an hour away from you.

But I'm a single street away from having delivery pizza available to me and I'm in the single neighborhood straddled between two cities neither of which want to pay to bring their fiber internet one street over, so I'm used to not having things available in my little nice but ignored area.

I have no idea what this means to our user experience.
I think the link had a reference to certain features being dropped.

It means Android is being updated to Oreo and the UI will change.

I am not in front of any of my TVs so I can't look at the link to check but I am welcoming the addition of YouTube HDR. Personally I am not worried about dropped features since I don't really use the TV OS for anything more than changing picture modes and YouTube.

*EDIT* Someone found the direct link.

As far as what is being removed, nothing notable IMO.

It looks to me like you are saying you tried it and didn't like it which is what I found as well and why I feel nothing notable was removed.

I hope it finally DOES get removed from the action menu though, they said that for the last firmware update and it didn't happen. It's so utterly useless and it annoys me no end when I accidentally click on that instead of the 'Picture' heading, which is just below the football mode.

So the Oreo update could happen at any time now? It always makes me nervous updating a TV's operating system but it is about time for an upgrade.

Does anyone know if Sony plans on supporting HDR10+ for the Z9D in the future?

Yeah, it is useless IMO because it just trashes the image quality and it is one more step to get to the Picture Adjustments.

They don't. They feel confident that the processing in the X1E, namely Advanced Contrast Enhancer, does the same thing as HDR10+.

My previous primary HT display was a Sony SXRD rear projection set, and it served us well for a bit over a decade (it didn't succumb to the dreaded optical block failure that defined these displays up until its final days when it was beginning to show signs of a yellow-ish staining on the screen which couldn't be dialed out with controls; other than that, we only changed the lamp when necessary). For this reason alone, I was considering another Sony when it came time to buy into 4K, but from all the research we did on the TVs before we purchased, it seemed that their sets were INCREDIBLY frustrating to set up with an overabundance of unncessary picture modes and sub-categories for settings that confused even the most seasoned of calibrators from time to time (based on what a Sony rep had told me at our local BB).

Add to that some difficult-to-defeat apps and smart controls, and I was convinced Sony just wasn't for us this time around (we didn't want things too complicated, if possible); I'm sure the PQ on these things are great, though.

Hopefully Sony has more brains than to support HDR10+.
