Actually these are September titles.

So before we get started on October, we have our two remaining US only September titles to unveil

Nice, I kept putting off importing the UK versions. I will wait for the US editions now.

IIRC the master used for the Severin DVD was pretty soft. Will be interesting to see if the BD offers significant upgrades.

They've already been released and reviewed in the UK

I own the region B releases, but at least the UK disc of Blanche is region free for people who want to import.

Already have the UK release of The Beast, but glad for those who aren't region free.

I just slammed on the brakes for the US discs... lol I will import the UK releases then. I'm region free.

Can someone explain this to me a bit more? The special features listed on the US disc and the UK disc seem to be identical, when comparing the reviews on this site for each disc. And they show the same runtime (126 minutes). This post quoted above a few times seems to have been removed from the thread.

The special features are not identical.

The US release of Immoral Tales loses:
-A Private Collection (Short)
-Boro Brunch Reunion

But gains:
-Obscure Pleasures (from the Blanche disc)
-Blow Ups (from the Shorts+Kabal disc)

----

US release of The Beast loses:
-Venus on the Half Shelf (Short)

But Gains:
-3 Commercials (from the Shorts+Kabal disc)
-The Profilgate Door (from the Goto disc)
-Boro Brunch (from the Immoral Tales disc)
-Gunpoint (from the Blanche disc)
-Behind Enemy Lines Documentary (from the Blanche disc)

I believe that covers it all.

----

My advice is to go with the UK discs if you can. They're more complete if you get all the discs (which you should -- they're very good films!).

So if I have Story of Sin and The Strange Case... US releases but the rest as UK releases (well I haven't grabbed The Beast yet), am I missing anything? Or are those two the same in the US and UK?

Oh, now those are exactly the same, so you're not missing anything. I was only talking about the films from the Camera Obscura box set.

Olive has the US rights to the other films in the set (and have released them on Blu-ray)

Yes, it appears so. They both were part of a last chance sale last June.
