This movie destroyed the continuity in the series. It basically renders Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4 completely meaningless.

The past films established that...

[Show spoiler]
Amanda was taking over the mantle and even drove John from the crime scene at the end of Part 2. We also see that Amanda made most of the traps.

Now we are led to think that...

[Show spoiler]
Hoffman was the one from Part 2 to Part 5? Yeah right, talk about scewing up storytelling by changing the storylines from Parts 2-4 in Part 5.

I'm done with this series.

[Show spoiler]No, because everything Jigsaw did with Amanda was revealed to have been ANOTHER game in the 4th one I think. Hoffman and Amanda were helping him all along, but Jigsaw working with Amanda was just a part of an extended game with her, a game that she ended up losing.

Saw can go away forever ... please.
Saw 1 was good, Saw 2 was not good but very entertaining (my fav), Saw 3 was great, and then the last two pathetic attempts are eventually showing just how ridiculous this franchise really is.

I didnt hate 4 or 5 but I think they weren't as good. I think ending it after 3 would have made this a great trilogy.

yeah...what was in that box!? I forgot about that....hmm...

5 was the weakest...not enough torture scenes, too much in the cops life...The Saw movies weak points have always been their acting...#5 had too much acting and not enough situation...this one never had the OMG moment that all of the other ones have had for me...I was dissappointed..

I think you have a very good point. Unfortunately and producers and production company didn't see it that way. It's turned into yet another horror franchise a'la Friday the 13 and Halloween. It would have been better to leave as a trilogy like Scream.

The funny (and sad) thing is that so many people complained about the Passion of the Christ, yet garbage like SAW comes out almost every week and not a peep.

Go figure!

Sad, but true. What's even sadder is that Tobin Bell is signed on to play "Jigsaw" through Saw VII. Even sadder still is that I will mostly like pay to see Saw VI in the theater, even though I found the last 2 installments to be horrendous (I think Saw III was the best of the series) and I can't bring myself to purchase Saw V even though I can get the Blu-ray for under $20 thanks to Circuit City's liquidation sale.
