I haven't watched A New Binge because I heard how awful it was, but this one looks like it might be entertaining.

This looks like great fun. Day one for me. Even though it wouldn't make a ton of sense, a part of me is hoping that Aunt Dee turns out to somehow be Helen Brown from the first movie. Lol.

I doubt that they had the budget for CGI.

even if it's not great, it will probably have more critter action than critters 4. which is literally the only reason any of us are curious.

Generally, CGI is actually cheaper than puppetry nowadays. That's one of the reasons puppetry has gone by the wayside.

I find that incredibly hard to believe. Full body suits and extensive puppetry with extensive difficult special effects on the level of Jurassic Park maybe, but for stuff like Critters, it's hard for me to believe that anything better than this...

Would cost less than an actual puppet.

I'm half way through the series and like it more and more with each episode but I can't stress enough that this series is nothing like the films. Very low budget and very corney (The Critters have a "president" for example) It is very much the Ghoulies 3 of the franchise. If you go into it with those kinds of expectations you may be entertained. If you go in expecting something closer to the films you will be extremely disappointed.

If it manages to be better than 3 and 4, then i'll welcome this edition.

3 i thought was ok as a decent timewaster but 4 was lame sequel and have you seen New Binge? it totally sucks like Seed of Chucky? i mean come on, a krite bones a human woman and impregnates her to create a hybrid? stupid writing about captain crunch teeth and hot dog fingers and all with no likable characters like the first 2.

As ludicrous as the premise is I actually had a good time with it and look forward to a second season. I actually didnt see it coming when it was revealed so while it was groan inducing. It caught me off guard. Not cool to see someone spoil it as folks like myself are out there that did have fun with the series.

not to sound like a dick or hater on something with such a low budget, but I don't know that you can spoil the new binge. I wouldn't say that it's unwatchable, but it does feel hollow and just trying to cash in on the name.

I can't think of an apt comparison. I mean, it's not as bad as say something like jason goes to hell. but then again, that doesn't mean it reaches the levels of something like jason lives or the new blood. (I was never a huge fan of the new blood personally. some people love it, but I always though it was kind of a mess.)

as much as I love the first two critters, can't say I'd buy this for more than a heavy discount during black friday. for me, it's hard to spend money for a fifth or argubably sixth entry in a franchise when there are more bad entries than good ones.

now if it was confirmed that the choido brothers were involved, maybe that could interest me. but until then...

Well if you have seen Zombeavers and enjoyed the low brow, minimal effort humor of that with all the stilted Z-grade acting then you'll enjoy New Binge. If you were like me and couldn't make it through the first hour of Zombeavers then I suspect you'll turn off New Binge after an episode or two. Some of the Critters interactions were humorous but that's all I got out of it the little bit I watched. I enjoyed part 3 & 4 way more.

I actually liked Zombeavers. I'll still watch New Binge out of curiosity when I can.

You'll probably enjoy it then, the humor is very similar (same director). The CG is really terrible but that didn't bother me, it made for some unintentional humor Ellen the bounty hunters.
