Not taking anything away (or meaning any disrespect for Paul Newman) - but it would not have taken anything away from any of those shown, to flash one or two pictures of him up there. That's all...not a matter of what I want -

That would have been a slap in the face {posthumously} to any of the actors shown this year or last year.

It would have been seen that everyone who died last year wasn't as important as Heath Ledger {they were shown last year but not this year} and it would have shown that everyone who passed on this year isn't as important either {as they won't be shown next year}.

In fact, that would have destroyed the credibility and respect of the entire process, elevating Heath Ledger above and beyond folks who only get mentioned once like Paul Newman and Charlton Heston.
