International Shipping error was not Canada specific but it seems to be fixed now, my order just went through

Thanks.
It's literally on Turner Classic Movies as I type this. 4-6 EST. Not sure if you have the opportunity to see it by those means first - TCM DVR maybe?

It's a fine film in its own right but I would never tell anyone to blind buy anything.

Pursuant to my recent interest in documentaries or quasi-documentaries, I just picked up Burroughs and My Dinner With Andre—both blind buys.

...any strong takes on either one?

If being privy to a two hour conversation turns you on then My Dinner with Andre might be for you. For me it was a slog for the most part.

I put in my order on Friday, and it just arrived today! Hats off to B&N!

The CC has uncompressed mono which is lossless...or am I missing something here?

The British version on the CC is lossy only. The BFI release is lossless.

First Criterion sale I have participated in:

War & Peace
Godzilla
Thin Red Line
Moonrise Kingdom
Seven Samurai
Stalker
Stagecoach
Solaris
It's a Mad,Mad,Mad,Mad World
8 1/2
Night of the Living Dead
Roberto Rossellini War Trilogy
High and Low
Ace in the Hole
Red River
12 Angry Men
Brazil
For All Mankind
Face in the Crowd

Unfortunately due to international delivery being glitched for so long I seem to have missed the boat on Dr Strangelove and Zatoichi set as they are out of stock.

BFI encode of the British cut is also better encoded, Criterion has encoded it like an extra (ie low bitrate)

Well, the international shipping issue has been fixed. In the end, I was a good boy and dwindled my wishlist down to four titles. (The exchange rate with Canada still makes it a bit expensive.) I'll give the rest of my money to Criterion in October.

I got:
HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH
WAR AND PEACE
PANIQUE
DEATH IN VENICE

Was Dr. Strangelove even available at the start of the sale? It has been unavailable at both Criterion's site and Amazon.com for some time. (Fortunately my closest B&N had a copy in-store and I was able to pick it up on Friday.)

I usually pick up 4 or 5 titles during these sales. On Friday I purchased:

I Wanna Hold Your Hand
Notorious
Swing Time
The Kid Brother

I've finally admitted to myself that, while there are certain Criterion titles I want to own, there are many more that I would like to see, but don't really need to own, even at 50% off. I'm going to stream the hell out of the Criterion Channel!

Well that's a pity, main thing I wanted out of the sale.

Same here, I'd drive to a store if they had these but they're probably gone by now if they did.
