Was legit shocked to see that The Shining 4K would be showing at my theater!!! Since I live in Sacramento I didn’t think there was a chance!!! Got two tickets!!! Me and the girlfriend are seeing it tomorrow!!! So excited!!!!

looks like I'll have to go that route not only with vinyl but with CD's now - the new line of cars these days don't have CD players anymore

Just got halfway through the movie. For me it looks incredible! One of the better looking 4K discs for sure.
Colours for me are spot on. HDR is applied in such a way it doesn't look overdone. I especially like the bright windows in the hotel and the office at the start of the movie.
There is lots of detail, and the grain is very fine and intact.
Gotta love Kubrick for his eye for detail, and the camera work is great also.

Yep, it's nice to have Jimmy Buffet, Credence, and Eagles with all of the fullness of vinyl.

I´m a bit confused now.

Does the regular Blu-ray come with the new master, too or did only the 4K UHD get the new remaster?

I´ll be getting my steelbook copy here in Germany on October, 10th which is the release date .

You think that's bad. Me with a thick Scottish accent at the T2 premier asked him for a photo. He didn't understand a word I'm saying, and then had to dash off for his red carpet interview. Would have been better asking him in Greek, as his wife is Greek, I assume he understands Greek. Lovely guy though, proffesional and personable; gave everyone an autograph who wanted one.
