I was really enjoying this in the first half but then it got really bizarre in it's second half. Almost a complete tonal shift.

That cover, especially the placement of the dog, looks like it was part of someone's "My First Photoshop" project.

Agreed. It just moved into an alternate earth where
[Show spoiler]murder isn't taken seriously, etc. And where none of the students at the end seemed too concerned that their teacher was dead
. The seams were showing in the writing. The exposition was a bit too obvious and clunky.

I'm not opposed to black humour. In Bruges did it really well. But this movie, not so well. I really wanted to like it, but was disappointed. And how can you have Imogen Poots as the female co-star (sort of) and not make use of her talents? She seemed wasted.

I thought the shift was kinda awesome, and the character development was quite deserved.
