Scarecrows is awesome; very effective action/horror melange that the 80s did so well.

Any chance of The Abominable Snowman retaining the DVD extras e.g. commentary, interview from the UK release by DD?

Today's sale is actually not too bad. I grabbed The Evil and Pledge for $27 shipped. I have a number of other titles on the way that were ordered/shipped over the weekend or else I would have grabbed another title or two to get to the free shipping threshold, but even with shipping I like the prices on these and had been waiting for a deal on The Evil, so I'm happy.
I paid less than $13 in Fall 2015 at Deep Discount for DOLLS. Those were the good-ole-days for buying Shout titles on sale.

Does anyone know if the UK 88 Films version of Scarecrows will play on a Region A player? I know some of their titles will, but there isn't any mention of it on this site's listing.

$25 is exploitation and they are holding movies hostage? Wow. That is truly insane. So by that logic, is Ray Ban exploiting eye wear enthusiasts? Is Christopher Elbow holding chocolate hostage?

Have you tried All Your Music on eBay? They also have a buy 3 get 15% off offer for quite a lot of Scream Factory titles. Same company that owns wowhd owns them.

I'm beginning to dip my toes into the Hammer catalog. Picked up Blood From the Mummy's Tomb from Amazon and it arrived today. Admittedly I went with that one because of the artwork but I'm a horror nut so I'm sure I'll find something to enjoy about it. BTW, is this film part of Shout's current sale?

Interesting chose. That isn't your first Hammer movie overall though, right? I would find that one to be a poor introduction to Hammer. At least of their entire genre catalog that is the only one I have struggled to find an appreciation for. I do revisit it often, hoping it will finally click.

I love Blood From the Mummy's Tomb and think it's the strongest of Hammer's mummy series, even more than the first.

I watched Blood From the Mummy's Tomb for the first time recently and enjoyed it greatly. Valerie Leon is stunning and I found the film to be unique and intriguing. I would agree that its likely not the best introduction to Hammer as its a bit of a slow burn.

I'd recommend starting with The Hound of the Baskervilles, Night Creatures (aka Captain Clegg) (1962), or Taste the Blood of Dracula.

I'm right there with you. Was excited when it was finally announced since finding the old DVD was turning into a chore.

I will give you that, It is one of the most unique mummy movies I have seen. If it had a bigger budget I would probably like it more but for Hammer it looks cheap to me. Carreras's direction was much more stylish in Curse of the Mummy's Tomb probably because he had a budget to work with, sometimes I swear all he had to work with in Blood was Leon's looks.

Edit: Actually it had a bigger budget than Curse. I don't where the money went. Seth Holt directed most of the film/Carreras directed mostly just the asylum scenes. I've seen both men do much better.

Scarecrows was originally going to be released by Scream! as half of a double feature Blu-Ray, but fans clamored that it deserved a standalone release, which Scream! had reservations regarding the financial prospects of. They went ahead with the standalone release anyways, but I remember Jeff Nelson of Scream! stating on a subsequent podcast appearance that it basically didn't live up to standalone release sales expectations, despite the outcry.

Gives me hope that some of the others might also come back in stock at an outlet here or there for one last shipment or something.
