Give me The Great Escape, Scorsese Shorts, Husbands, and Eric Rohmer’s Six Moral Tales, although I’ll likely wait for a sale to get the Rohmer set.

Considering the word NEW is nowhere to be found leads me to believe we will be getting more or less the same transfer MGM has had available for the original blu-ray release.

Hey gang, I'm mulling over buying Martin Scorsese's World Cinema Project volume one when the Flash Sale hits. I'd appreciate overall impressions from some of you that own it.

At this point, I'm in the prioritizing phase where my want list is concerned, so it's not a matter of if, but when I ultimately get it, as well as volume two. Scorsese's mission is something I feel incredibly passionate about, and closely aligns with what I wish to write about.

Also, what are your thoughts about Pedro Almodóvar's films in the Collection? I'm sold on All About My Mother. There's a good chance I grab another one, if not all three, right away.

It's a good thing the sale isn't going on today. I've put together quite an eclectic group of films, and I don't think I'd be able to exercise much control.

As always, thanks for your input. It's always sincerely appreciated.

I think they've stopped listing releases at that $29.99 price point, no matter how bare-bones the release.

That's my concern too. I think Criterion may still touch it up a little though.

In for Husbands, a Cassavetes blind-buy, and the Moral Tales. The only Rohmer I've seen so far is Marquise d'O and that needs to change.

Yeah. . . though I did have a funny memory to when they announced THE UNINVITED and I MARRIED A WITCH at 39.99, I saw forums and FB pages get annoyed, and then suddenly they were 29.99, haha.

Definitely in on The Great Escape, as it is one of my favorite films! I'd kind of been expecting Criterion to also announce Sturges' The Magnificent Seven alongside it... I'm assuming either Criterion or Arrow have that film.

Without wishing to derail from talk of the latest releases, I thought I'd post some pictures of the new UK Criterion release of the Jacques Demy set. It's notable as the US release is dual-format and this one isn't, so they've changed up the design. Maybe this will come to the US at some point? Anyway, I thought it might be of interest - personally I think it looks much better in the smaller, tighter form factor!
