All the time.

The funniest one to me is the Poison Ivy Collection. I had all 4 dvd discs separately and thought THEY WILL NEVER RELEASE THIS on blu-ray. So I put them all together in a 4 disc case and even did a custom cover (back when I had a printer capable of good quality work). Several years later, we get the Shout Collection. I still have the dvd "collection" because its one of my better efforts and because I can't stomach the $40 for the collection.

Lately I've been doing it where applicable with cds and their dvd concert counterparts where it makes sense. A 2-disc cd case takes up a lot less space than a cd and dvd or even just a dvd.

Definitely have been considering doing this for efficiency and to save shelf space. It's also something that could be nice as essentially an extras 'bonus disc' when extras are not ported over to the blu. Classic Disney movies are a great example; it's a shame that many of their dvd extras are not on blu. And there are plenty of movies where the theatrical and/or director's cut is not on blu but is available on dvd.

Yes. In addition to putting most of my collection into Binders recently, I still like to keep certain ones in the Blu case(s). And, for certain films I use a Blu case (with tabs on either side) to combine the following:

Donnie Darko/S. Darko

Terminator 2/Terminator 3

Casino Royale/Quantum of Solace

La Femme Nikita/Point of No Return (American re-make)
