I found the Mafia 3 a really disappointingly missed opportunity tbh after GTA v did a narrative driven open world, Mafia 3 had all these shoddy floaty mechanics and imo, it's made the gams a lot cheaper looking and if they overhauled the mechanics, that could be the best thing for the game.
I say this as a person who bought it at launch full price based on marketing thinking i was getting something akin to GTA V in terms of feel. Especially makes it worse when you think GTA V released on PS3 with better mechanics and then got remastered. Also considering the R* shared heritage you'd think they would have had access to see how to do it better or get help on the mechanics. GTA IV had really crappy feeling mechanics and i'm so grateful GTA V corrected that. |
