I never saw Millennium when it first aired. I later found out about the show due to it's connection with The X-files, so I ended up watching the whole series on DVD circa 2010/2011. I then re-watched it around 2017/2018.
This show is - quite simply - superb. I know some mention a drop-off in quality in the third season & I won't argue with this - but, I still feel all three seasons are strong. Really liked the Pacific Northwest setting; the gloom/overcast atmosphere really "fit" this series. Millenium really pushed the envelope re: the horrific crimes that were being investigated, etc. Also, going along with this - the series was an unsettling look back at the tail end of the '90's, and the angst/concern everyone had about the forthcoming century (and Y2K was the least of this). The series had a very unsettling, disturbing quality that I haven't experienced with most/any?! other TV shows I've seen, and was also an interesting time capsule of the late '90's era. So, yes - I would definitely welcome this show Blu. Last edited by AnamorphicWidescreen; 06-26-2020 at 10:13 PM. |
