Besides the narration is there a difference between the US and BBC versions? Doesn't the BBC version have more footage?

This is an absolutely spectacular documentary film, one that is really touching and that inspires serious thought about the future of our planet.

It is very true to life/graphic insofar as predator and prey are concerned and I could see where some of those scenes could frighten/disturb small children.

I was in your shoes awhile back about this documentary. I went ahead and bought it as I've been reading about it. I'm glad that I did and its worth every penny.

Yes, the BBC version runs approx. 530 minutes vs. the US version at 480 minutes.

Also, the US version is presented in 1080i/AVC MPEG-4 encode, compared to the 1080p/VC-1 on the BBC version.

BBC all the way.

I bought a microwave to cook "baked" potatoes. I bought a Blu-Ray player to watch Planet Earth. This is an absolutely stunning series and worth several times the price!

Sadly I don't have 1080p...yet
But I have 1080i and a Blu-ray player
...guess I'll have to settle for that
