Default Fight Night Round 4

Anyone know if EA is getting ball rolling on this or not? I played FNR3 to death with my buddies on the 360, and I know the PS3 version has some new features, but I'd just rather wait for Round 4... whenever it might come.

All I know is that this game isn't a yearly game like most EA titles. I don't think this will come around until late 08 at the earliest.

Considering how awful the PS3 version of Fight Night Round 3 was, it might not be a good idea to ask for another incarnation quite so early...

I thought it was better and worse in equal measure, lower background detail but improved foreground detail. They'll be a lot more familar with the PS3 hardware now.. or when they actually unveil the new FN.

with EA's recent acquisition of the Microsoft exec who stepped down to take the EA job (sorry his name escapes me) I'm sure EA's PS3 games will suffer. I.E. Madden's frame rate issue.

They're not going to harm their own sales by intentionally putting out poor quality PS3 games.

Default EA includes "Iron" Mike Tyson in Fight Night Round 4

Let me start off by saying,

Next to Ali, Mike Tyson is my favorite Boxer of all-time. Definitely the Hardest Puncher in Boxing history.

As a young fighter, Mike Tyson moved like lightning. He was a walking tornado. He fought everyone that was available for him to fight at the time. Holyfield ducked him for years as did Lennox Lewis, only to emerge after Tyson's skills had diminished. Let's not forget the biggest chicken of them all, "Chicken Big-Daddy Bowe", who ducked Tyson forever.

I can truly say, I am looking forward to Fight Night 4 now that Mike Tyson is in it. I remember as a kid when they would announce a Tyson fight. It would be like 10 months away, but you'd count the days. The build up was amazing. Then, BAM! It was over within 1 or 2 rounds. It was Great! I feel like it's 1988 and another Tyson fight has just been announced.

I still have my Mike Tyson's Punch out! UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, A, B, A, B!

Don't let facts ruin your revisionist history. Who was supposed to fight Tyson after Douglas? Yeah, that would be Holyfield. And if Tysons skills had diminished at age 23, that's his fault, no one else's. Also, you seemed to have forgotten Tyson not wanting to fight Lewis and being stripped of the WBC title.

Good luck with the rest of your story though.

Nope. Razor Ruddock was Tyson's next big opponent after Douglas. He fought a couple of guys, then Ruddock. At the time of Tyson/Ruddock, Holyfield was fighting everyone but Tyson. He used every excuse in the book. Tillis was Holy's first Heavyweight fight. Tillis, Thomas, Dokes, Rodrigues and Stewart. Then when Tyson lost to Douglas, Holyfield fought Douglas for the belt. Then he wouldn't fight Tyson until Tyson fought enough fights to become the #1 contender. He ducked him for years, and rightly so. Tyson in his prime was too strong for Holy. Plus, Holy was too small. He wasn't juicing yet. Holy fought him when it was all over for Tyson. He had nothing left in the tank, which wasn't until 1996. Then all the chickens came out of the wood work to get a piece of the old, slow Mike. Not the lightning fast killer he once was.

I have an interview with Lennox saying he used to train in the same gym as Tyson, no one wanted to fight him. He said he wouldn't have been able to beat him 15 years ago, at the time. That's right from his mouth.

I've been collecting boxing film my entire life. Trust me, they all ducked him and they all admit it. The ones who fought him, felt that first punch and went right down. They wanted no part of Tyson.

In Fight night4, Tyson should definitely have the hardest punch in the game. He should also be super fast. If he doesn't win in 3 rounds, his rating should diminish very rapidly.
