Kinda figured it was bs & Disney is in quite the bind right now. They’re desperate for money. There’s so many Fox catalog titles that haven’t been released & many have demanded. They should do what Sony does & make a survey of the more sought after titles. Most of us collectors know the ones we want by now. They will sell also & Disney should’ve known so.

It was never in doubt that they're committed to the format - but for new release titles only, or so the insider rumour mill goes.

At any rate, I won't believe it until I see some live action title comes out in 2021. The proof is always in the pudding.
Right. This post title is completely misleading, and they never actually said that.

I formerly decided never to believe any "scoops" from Digital Bits until they actually happen.

Die Hard 1, Predator, and Alien are on 4k disc sporting pretty decent transfers. Pick 'em up and show you care.

And the Lethal Weapons are at WB, so odds are better they will show up on 4k disc set sooner than if they were at Disney, which would probably be next to never.

Shit... here I thought it was a clarifying statement over and above what Disney said directed at The Digital Bits.

It's not. It's the same vague, slippery marketing speak, except on a different website.

The exact same non denial denial that goes around in a circle and leaves you right back where you started with no actual answers to the questions we all have.

I find it hard to believe Disney would drop the catalog movies from 4K. There is money to be made and Disney likes money. I think we will get some 4K catalog releases, but I don’t think we are going to get everything we want. They are going to pick and choose, not just put everything on a 4K disc. I also don’t see a need for them to add new bonus content. Put the movie on a 4K disc, add the old Blu-ray (with old bonus content) and slap it in a case. You may get a bone if it was a ‘major’ movie. Just my opinion and how I would like it to play out (as a worst case scenario).

Don't they have a large press conference coming up? Would imagine Mulan, New Mutants and 4k will all be addressed.

You mean you trust Disney to continue releasing live action catalog movies in 4K?

It's the same vague lip service Disney gave The Digital Bits. The statement says nothing using a lot of words to do it. It also never mentions catalog titles on 4k disc at all. Forbes' title is misleading.

Unless pressed, they will dance around and say 4k. However, disc and/or digital or...? The industry press almost never questions a thing. Apparently, some here don't either.

I think you might be referring to their quarterly financial call. It was last week.
