Got my order today, I found it kind of odd that the "Evil in the Deep" side of the cover was the prominent side displayed and the title printed on the disc is also "Evil in the Deep" when this is the "G" rated version called "The Treasure of Jamaica Reef" and the "R" rated version "Evil in the Deep" is not included on the disc.

My last order shipped 11 days ago. Unfortunately it is still stuck in LA, so it essentially has traveled nowhere, so far. Who knows how long it will take to reach me on the east coast. LA is about the worst place for packages to have to go through these days.

That's terrible news, I'm very disappointed.

It's not really terrible news because it was always advertised as being the G-rated cut that's being released despite the artwork saying otherwise.

I checked the IMDB and EVIL IN THE DEEP is a re-titling of the film with added footage. Maybe the original version as TOJR isn't so bad after all since it's the original version.

I think The Demon mentioned all of this earlier in the thread, that the Jamaica Reef version would be on the disc, and some scenes from the "Evil in the Deep" version would be included as an extra, because proper elements couldn't be found for that version.

If I recall, the Jamaica Reef version is the original film. A couple of years after the success of "Jaws', the distributor and filmmakers went back and shot some extra scenes (shark gore and a silly murder subplot) to spice things up a bit, and that re-done version is "Evil in the Deep".

The Blu-Ray does include extra scenes (poor quality from what looks like video, but better than nothing) from the "Evil in the Deep" version. Not sure if all the extra stuff is there, but it was cool to see that footage as only "Jamaica" ever had a VHS release here.

Oh, it's bad, very very bad. A definite cure for insomnia - leave it on, it sounds like a travelogue type film and will knock you out in no time.

I think the EITD version may be more fun in a bad way, simply because of the dumb added scenes, and especially if they trimmed footage from the dull Jamaica version down a bit as well.

I just got a weird email from Dark Force telling me an Order I placed on Nov. 27th has changed to "Shipped". They "shipped" that order on Dec. 7th, which I still have not received. Now I'm wondering if they actually never shipped it. There's a working tracking number on that order

Then they give me a link to check the status, which, of course, is useless since the store is down. WTF.

I got the same. Difference between us is that I had already received the order from the previous shipping notice in early December.

Pretty sure this second shipping email just got auto-sent by mistake. I've had it happen before from other places.

In fact, MakeFlix just apologized on Facebook yesterday about confusion from PayPal customers maybe getting duplicate shipping emails. Maybe Dark Force is experiencing the same issue with PayPal?
