What the heck are Wanda's superpowers supposed to be, anyway?

I rewatched Age of Ultron and it looks like she can control minds, levitate things, and make stuff randomly explode.

I've been loving WandaVision so far. Easily the most unique MCU project, and the fools complaining that it's slow, are the reason why we don't get fresh projects in general, and WHY Marvel stuck to their formula.

The sitcom satires really worked for me, with the jokes, eras, laugh tracks, music, and even the clever, yet eerie commercials. This also showcases Olsen's best work as Wanda, and the same for Bettany as Vision. Although Teyonah Parris and Kathryn Hahn are so far the standouts for me, they're terrific.

As others stated, the unnerving, mysterious elements are the best aspects (the glitchy jump cut in episode three stood out). I can't for the inevitable big finale!

Reality warping in the comics (although her powers have been retconned a dozen times there but they're essentially reality warping). The movies made her Jean Grey 2.0 with telekinesis and telepathy but they seem to have dropped the mind control stuff since AoU.

Speaking of Reality Warping the comics after the Infinity War goes through a period of Avengers Disassembled - Reality-warping era in which there is a short period called House of M.

"House of M" is a 2005 comic book storyline published by Marvel Comics. The storyline consists of a core eight-issue comic book limited series written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Olivier Coipel, and a number of crossover tie-in books. Its first issue debuted in June 2005 as a follow-up to the events of the "Planet X" and "Avengers Disassembled" storylines, in which the superhero Scarlet Witch suffered a mental breakdown and tried to alter the fabric of reality to recreate her lost children. Scarlet Witch's father, Magneto, and her twin brother, Quicksilver, played major roles in the series. Like the 1995–1996 "Age of Apocalypse" storyline, "House of M" replaced the Earth-616 as the main reality for a brief time until Scarlet Witch reverts to normal. The events of the storyline were later indicated to have occurred on Earth-58163.

The complaints of the mystery not being revealed faster is hilarious. What would be the fun in that. I guess people want everything to be like those CW shows.

I have never watched one of those shows, do they have the bad guy menacing in the background of the first episode?

Do we have to move away from the fun part of WandaVision? - Polygon 1/26/2021

My most unpopular Marvel Cinematic Universe opinion, which I’ve held onto strongly since 2015’s Age of Ultron, is that I love Scarlet Witch and Vision. MCU fans don’t necessarily hate them per se, but in the larger framework, they play such a small role that they’re very few people’s favorites. I once got into a fight at a party with someone who said the two were pointless additions to the MCU narrative. (At my own party, too!)

The reasons I was first drawn to them were simple: I love witches, and I love robots. (The fact that Paul Bettany is so cute doesn’t hurt.) I enjoy them individually, but as a ship, I also like the concept of two alienated outsiders finding solace with each other.

WandaVision feels like a vindication for my fandom. At last, two of my most beloved MCU characters, who only ever got teeny-tiny scenes in bigger, more grandiose stories, have a show of their own. The first three episodes made me even more triumphant — this fun, slice-of-life take on this self-proclaimed “unusual couple” is exactly what I wanted.

But the Disney Plus show is at the precipice of spiraling into big, heavy plot-thingies. Fans are clearly looking forward to the reveal, the answer to the question of how this show fits into the grander scheme of the MCU. But can we take a moment here? Why oh why can’t we stay with the fun stuff just a little longer?

I didn't really become an MCU fan until Age of Ultron because it introduced her (along with Pietro and Vision). It helped that she was one of my favs from the comics as well.
