Complete opposite for me. According to the employee who processed my pickup order, my store only received about 10 steelbooks (none left on the shelf when I picked mine up). They had at least 50 copies of the standard 4K slipcover version between the new release display at the front of the store and and main movie shelf towards the back of the store. Strange release.

I was going to wait for a price drop but this steel looked too good to miss out on.

They shouldn't make it so easy to get Wonder Woman. It makes her appear slutty.
She should be more hard to get.

Zoolert shows at least nearly 200 within 25 miles including 25 at several locations. I suspect once the multibuyers return their extras and the scalpers realized there may be a glut and return their cache the numbers will stablize.

Tyrok did say this was the biggest batch of Steelbooks of a single title since Rise of Skywalker

Some copies need to be saved for the shelf, otherwise why the hell even bother to have a retail location? BB needs to remember people need a reason to actually walk through the door. Memo to the BB brass, physical media has new releases every week, I only need a new refrigerator once every 25 years.
Wow dude this has been coming for a long time. Get ready to be disappointed every Tuesday.

Best Buy just fired 5000 employees recently because they feel they no longer need them in the stores. Why? Due to the pandemic, retailers have seen record sales come from online orders.

The belief is that a large portion of shoppers won't be coming back to the stores for items that can be purchased online, like movies, even when the pandemic restrictions are fully lifted.

That's why the movie shelves keep getting reduced in stores. They don't want you coming back to the store. Some day you'll have to buy them online or not buy them at all. If you stop going to the store to buy movies, or stop buying movies completely, Best Buy isn't going to miss you.

By the way, posting your memo to the Best Buy brass on an internet forum isn't going to get to CEO Corie Barry who made the cuts.

And she doesn't care what you think anyway.

Too many of these to count at my local.

Definitely a sale coming in the near future.

...$14.99 at some point.

...book it.

They don't want customers? That's a genius ****ing way to run a business. Why reduce the physical media section and replace it more floorspace? There's hardly any goddamn customers inside the way it is, how much more room do they need to walk around? You could land a jumbo jet in between the displays of worthless garbage like blenders, electric razors and flashlights (all crap, that again, you only need about once every 25 years). Don't worry though, I'm sure that 'Corie Barry' (whoever the hell that is) will receive the golden parachute after she destroys the company and screws everyone out of the chance to buy stuff in a retail location.

We must get used to the................PERMA PANDEMIC
Going forward it will be a parade of Covid-20, Covid-21, Covid-22, Covid-23......etc.
I think Best Buy is telling us that with their moves.

Looks like bad distribution to me. https://www.zoolert.com/bestbuy-inve...7C25%7C6444353

I remember the CAPTAIN MARVEL steelbook being as plentiful as this one is in your area.

Don’t know how many my store got, but at 5 min after 10, zero on the new release rack. Picked up my in store preorder from back when first available, as I knew there could be a possibility of short stock. Based on Tyrok post, maybe this is going to stick around a while. Better safe than sorry these days.

Some of the big box store companies don't need the large spaces they once did.

Best Buy has been closing stores. Cutting down on rent and employee salaries.

Companies want to make more profit year over year. That's what CEO's are brought in for. During this pandemic, sales and profits have hit records for some companies over the last year. They aren't going to beat those sales this year. So how do you make more profit on less sales?

Cut jobs. Best Buy recently fired 5000 full time employees that have been around for years with benefits who were making a lot more than minimum wage. A lot of retail companies do this now. Now the plan is to hire 1000 part time employees who won't receive benefits and will be paid minimum wage.

The trend will continue for companies to close stores where they can and move their businesses online more.

It's an Amazon world now.

UPS tracking shows it’s a few miles away so I could get it today Can’t wait to see and hear what the 4K release is like compared to HBOMax. I love collecting SteelBooks way back to the Disney ones.

Default BB 4k washed out picture

Does anyone else have a washed out picture on the Best Buy 4k? My standard HD looks great. See comparison pics attached. There is a distinct difference, even in the menu page.
The Standard HD pics are the ones with much better color

This might be an issue with your TV and/or HDR settings
