No idea who will release it, but it'd sure fit well within the MVD Rewind Collection.

The good news about all this is that's it's STILL coming, just through another label.

Hope Severin's extras get included in the process.

Keeping an eye on this one, the UK edition is cheap enough but I'll wait and see the PQ reviews and see if the extras differ much before I buy.

I love watching deleted scenes so wonder if there is any differences on what is included between the two releases.

Also my choice will depend on if the US edition is region B compatible (as I'm in the UK).

I don't know. It could be VS, but it would honestly surprise me in the circumstances.

Please, please..... please let it be anyone but VS releasing this. I don't want to be forced in getting this movie as part of my subscription lol

I don't know who has it, but I am surprised they let Severin keep it out there for that long. I'm sure they put a good amount of work into this...Doesn't make sense that it would be a "friend" unless it is an overseas label, maybe?

My bet is Code Red then. They have an upcoming 90s Universal title and Severin has been doing upgrades of former CR discs, so they would be a "friend" in that way.

I have this preordered at Amazon.I preordered it with the new Star Trek II blu ray on July 24.It's still listed as pre-ordered for me with the Release date: Tuesday, September 28, 2021 still there. Is Amazon going to cancel my pre-order or will it just come from the new company that releases the film?

The order page is also still up.

Yeah, no way it's VS as they seem to have a pretty close relationship with each other. I just don't understand how Severin was able to get the rights, if someone else already had it, especially for a film like this.

If I were a betting man, realistically I think either Kino or Arrow has it. Maybe Mill Creek and they seem like the type to not even realize Severin was releasing it until after the fact.

If this is indeed with Universal, Kino (via Code Red or Scorpion) is very likely. It would explain a gap in my 90s speculation (the Insider said they only had 2 of those listed, with 2 missing, including a TV movie), as at the time I wasn't aware this was with Universal. It's near certain one of these will be included in the deal:

Coupe de Ville
Drop Dead Fred
Ghost Dad
Henry and June
White Palace

I can imagine Bill being crazy enough to pick Ghost Dad, but would Universal allow it?

I just hope the text interview with Phoebe Cates sees the light of day. I’m glad it’s not Shout, if Kino, they very rarely include a booklet. Unless they can pull some moves and get even an audio interview with her that would be cool.

Now that I’ve given up on getting my sale order, I can now look forward to not receiving my Drop Dead Fred refund. Maybe they think I’m only making donations to them

It seems to me Universal had a clerical error and they sold the rights twice.
Bizarre, but I suppose it happens!

Cruel Jaws has been removed from Severin's website, even the novelization

Cruel Jaws uses unauthorized footage from JAWS..... could be a big coincidence, who knows
