Kind of surprised that Dune is the top domestic opening for Villeneuve, given that Sicario and Arrival both get a lot of praise. I hope we eventually get more of his movies on UHD.

I don't think it's the HBO Max Servers, I think it's your home setup or ISP. I know your Sony 4KTV is Hardwired, are you using the Android Apps or a Streaming Device? Cheez avenger how are you setup to access HBO Max? I haven't setup HBO Max with my Android Apps, but I'm sure it would work flawlessly like my others!

I have an Apple TV 4K and use the HBO MAX app via that device. I'm also hardwired.

A few friends have been sharing the same update. Who knows, maybe by the time it is released, I will have a working processor. The Lyngdorf appears to have a bad board or chip. I am working with them to return it.

There's nothing wrong with my set-up. It is the first time that I have ever had trouble using the HBO Max app. I still use the apps built-in with the TV; I have not bought a dedicated streaming device yet. I am not one to defend my ISP, but all of my speed tests have been normal. I still believe HBO Max's servers were overwhelmed or the distance between me and them was too far or both.

I agree that The Sixth Sense is probably the best movie that he has ever made, but sometimes I wonder if he spent most of his creativity on it and has had little left for everything since.

I've heard good things about the PQ on Chappie so really looking forward to that. It took a while to track down a copy with a slipcover for a reasonable price since it didn't get one for the domestic release. It'll be my first German import.

Watched Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Black Widow on disc this week. The former had a great Atmos mix.

3:10 to Yuma is great. Everything else is mediocre to awful.

I watched Jodorowsky's Dune documentary today, which was great. Started up S2 of Last Kingdom on Netflix.

Standard Definition DVD volumes were up 12% in the first half of 2021 driven by the continued aggressive marketing of back catalog product by the major studios and their retail partners, particularly in the North American region.
Blu-rayTM volumes were down (13)% in the first half year-on-year, due to the aforementioned lack of new release content, and less mitigating benefit from catalog promotions.
CD volumes were down (11)% year-on-year on a combination of expected structural declines and Covid-19 retail impacts.

DVD Services continued to progress previously announced structural division-wide initiatives to adapt distribution and replication operations, and related customer contract agreements, in response to continued volume reductions. Two significant North American facility closures were effected in the first half of 2021 as part the ongoing transformation plan. Executive and management teams have been implementing multiple cost reduction and business improvement and efficiency programs, and these are ahead of plan at first half, and expected to deliver the full-year savings and efficiencies projected.

DVD Services revenues totaled €283 million in the first half 2021, in line with 2020. Revenue resilience
was driven predominately by a 4% increase in total replicated disc activity, driven by continued strong
demand for back catalog titles. We also saw the significant positive impact of new pricing, and ongoing
growth in non-disc related supply chain activity. Covid-19, however, continued to have a negative
impact in the first half, with a significantly lower level of new release activity, which in turn resulted in a
reduced mix of higher priced Blu-ray volume as compared to the first half of 2020, negatively impacting

I liked Source Code, but the 4K is not the best transfer out there. Chappie was a miss for me but did look great as all Blomkamp 4K discs do.
