ummm... the extras were going to be in sd anyway. What is the big deal???

You are actually getting MORE for your money... lot less.

People complain about everything.

Would you have been happier if it was a 2 disk bluray edition and the extras were still in SD?

Most blus don't have extras in hd and certainly not catalog titles.

I came in this thread expecting to hear that there was no extras at all and you are here crying that they not only gave you an sd copy of the movie ( which disney was praised for) but the extras as well.

Lock this silly thread immediately.

it's stupid that you have to pop out the BD, put in the standard DVD if you want the extras...that's all I'm saying. it's pure laziness by the studio.

Unless Fox are trying to save on costs by employing BD25's then there really is no need for the extras to be put onto a second disc. Alot of people like BD because you should only need on disc for most films.

I can understand the OP's frustration at the lazyness of certain studios and some of their releases.

Why do people even care for the audio commentary? I want to watch the movie and listen to the dialogue not someone else voice (whether director or actor or...).
I never watched a movie with commentary and find it useless IMO. Thus, I am good with the bd the way it is. No offense.

To the people that want to load only 1 disc: I assume that you were mad at Warner for putting some other extras on a different disk than the one with the feature movie (The Dark Knight). Thus, you probably did not touch that 2nd disc of extras. Did U?

Boys and girls, stop complaining and enjoy the low price on this catalog new release. Would U pay $4 extra to have that commentary on the movie disc?

Anyway, OP: how is the PQ and AQ?

These are all leftover titles from when MGM/Fox went on hiatus, there are probably even more that they prepared in this period coming. Their modus operandi in that period was MPEG-2 BD25 Barebones. They presumably figured that throwing a dvd with extras in was better than nothing at all.

Absolutely stunning and frankly appalling that not only are they doing this, but people are lining up to agree with them and chastise people who don't want crap like this.

Well have fun with that, the rest of us who are interested in behind the scenes information and getting more bang for are buck will be outside of the drunk tank.

Hear hear.

I can't believe some of you. "I don't care about extras, so what's the big deal?" So what are you chiming in on this thread for! A lot of us do care about them, so this is an issue for us. It'd be a different story if we were whining that every movie didn't get the Blade Runner treatment, but all we're asking is for very simple things: include the extras from the DVD, and when feasible put them all on one disc. At the very least, put the commentary on the BR disc! How hard is that?

For those that don't like commentaries or extras, fine, but don't shout it from the rooftops to the studios and screw those of us that do. You guys have the option of ignoring the extras, whether they're there or not. For those of us that love films and are fascinated by the creative process, commentaries and documentaries are fascinating and helpful.

According to DVD Beaver, the french version of The Graduate is VC-1.

Regardless, the film itself wasn't "remastered" by Lowry or anything that extreme, so it'll probably get yet another release in a few years.

If he wants to complain about it (or express his opinion) let him. Nobody's opinion is the end all be all of these threads, much less yours. Get off your know it all high horse and just don't reply to the thread if you don't agree, or just state your opinion and get outta here.

I don't mind this, especially if the features are still in SD. This at least gives you an option to watch the movie in another room or on the road where you don't have BD access.

Why would someone that wants to listen to the movie with director's commentary want to watch the movie in standard-def?

I had no idea they were doing something like this. I'm getting Walking Tall and Out of Time in the mail this week, doesn't bother me. I stopped watching the extra's a long time ago.
