some other alien abduction media I would like to see released on Blu Ray
Intruders (1992) - a miniseries from 1992 from Dan Curtis. Has the same screenwriter as Fire in the Sky. It is pretty damn terrifying. Some parts gave me nightmares Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County (1998) - a TV movie remake of the McPherson Tape (which got a release from Vinegar Syndrome). A pretty well done creepy found footage movie about a family under siege from aliens |

Pretty sure I saw this twice in the theater as a kid and it was still scary the second time around. Haven't gotten around to watching the digital hd I got on Vudu. This would be an interesting one to hear a commentary track and hopefully there are some entertaining extras.

I have the imprint version. The directors commentary was worth the ticket price alone. Listen to the bit when Mike & David arrive at Allan Dallis ranch to try get him to come in and do the lie detector.
Shooting that scene didn’t go quite as well as expected. It’s brilliant. |

Cat People, Darkman, and The People Under the Stairs would all like a word.

Even still, I wouldn't call those absolute dog shit transfers. I was more speaking like something that scored a 1 or 2. LOL! Obviously, I'd prefer the best transfer possible, but when I saw a few comments about people mentioning an awful transfer, I was concerned there was reason to think we'd get like a 1 out of 5 or something ridiculous.

I know it's truly unfortunate that this isn't getting a native 4K
But sadly Paramount is strictly "no" on 4K licensing, blu-ray only for them and they're very picky about who they license to, let alone licensing remasters (ex. Mommie Dearest got a remaster on their Presents release but prior to that, Imprint licensed the title and got the older master iirc) As far as I know the only studios doing 4K licensing are MGM, Universal, Warner Bros., and now Sony entered 4K licensing |

The flashback abduction sequence that begins in his kitchen, when the maple syrup spills over has stayed with me since first seeing it as a kid. To the point where if I ever accidentally spill or pour out too much maple syrup, I begin remembering that scene. The trauma that dude had was intense and his flashbacks were some of the most horrific moments I can recall seeing in any movie back then. But hey, no need to cry over spilt syrup, because if maple syrup doesn't animate that memory, then it's Super Troopers maple syrup chugging contest, so I think I have a pretty good grasp on my maple syrup triggers. It's probably been over 15 years since I've seen this movie and I think it was just on cable in SD, so I'm interested in checking it out again. The story is fascinating, particularly the witness accounts and the hell they went through while he was abducted. It does have a really strong cast and the movie is definitely recommended for anyone who's fascinated with alien encounters/abductions and wants to see a uniquely horrifying account of it. It definitely didn't inspire confidence in me to greet any aliens with open arms, that's for sure! |

Awesome, look forward to it. Fan of this flick for years, I passed on the $40 Imprint release when it came out. I got into ufo stories in the 90s after watching the Unsolved Mysteries ufo cases. My dad wasn't into ufo stuff but I told him to watch the movie and afterward he asked me if I was trying to scare the shit out of him with the abduction flashback. I remember Travis Walton on a game show a few yrs ago and he failed the lie detector test when asked about his story again. Who knows..I think it makes for interesting documentaries and movies. |

My dad had just hooked up a speaker system to our VCR and this was the first movie to test it out. Still remember that feeling having to go to bed right after watching.

Yeah I was older when I first saw this, for some reason I didn't think the movie was going to show anything on the ufo craft, it's all pretty standard drama up to that point and I thought they weren't gonna go there, then Bang! The aliens start doing there thing.. I was like WTF..!
