Nicholas Cage was awesome in The Rock. Probably my favorite performance of his. He and Connery were great together.

If this weren't the F13 thread, I'd talk about how much I abhor Michael Bay's obsession with constantly moving the camera. But it is, so I won't.

Fair enough. To be clear, though, I am by no means a Michael Bay fan. I just happen to love The Rock. It's a great piece of action cinema. Cage is at his best. Great action, great score, great practical effects. It hits all the right buttons.

The banter is really the only thing Cage and Connery have to work with. They aren't really allowed to do any of the heavy lifting. But it's fine.

Bay movies usually have generic bad guys. Like in the Bad Boys movies. Boring. Luckily, Harris was able to add credibility to the film in a dramatic sense.
