I doubt it. All of the HBO Max shows have had good reviews and even Titans seems to be popular, they're likely going to keep them as streaming exclusives because they're stupid and think it subtracts from subscriptions like people only subscribe for one particular thing. People can have both.

My understanding was that the streaming model actually does kind of depend on a large number of people subscribing just for one particular show they like. As it was explained to me, that's why streaming shows don't need to be as 4-quadranty as network shows. Each show just needs to draw in a small but passionate audience who will pay the monthly fee for that show.

Obviously, I'm not saying that they expect every subscriber to be like that, but certainly a big chunk of them are, as I understand it.

I see it like maybe one show gets them interested but nobody is going to stay subscribed indefinitely just to watch one show. They're going to cancel it and then maybe resub later on if to watch it again, or watch the new seasons. That's not a highly sustainable business model. They could release the shows on disc and get 2-3 months worth of a subscription cost in one go. Then the person would also subscribe to watch the new season, and then also likely to buy it. I don't see anybody subscribing full time for one show.

I don't know, if that model worked, we'd see all these streaming shows getting disc releases, but that doesn't happen. Other than shows like House of Cards of The Crown, which are produced by outside companies, the shows actually produced by Netflix or other streamers seem to almost never get disc releases.
