They're going to cancel it and then maybe resub later on if to watch it again, or watch the new seasons. That's not a highly sustainable business model. They could release the shows on disc and get 2-3 months worth of a subscription cost in one go. Then the person would also subscribe to watch the new season, and then also likely to buy it. I don't see anybody subscribing full time for one show.

I don't know, if that model worked, we'd see all these streaming shows getting disc releases, but that doesn't happen. Other than shows like House of Cards of The Crown, which are produced by outside companies, the shows actually produced by Netflix or other streamers seem to almost never get disc releases.
