I was hoping for the same Poster art cover used in the original set with a slipcase. But, I don't think so. I made my own custom cover art. The steelbook I will put away. Never bought one. I don't like them. But this is Lawrence of Arabia in 4K UHD ! This is a Special Movie. A Masterpiece !

The cover is so ugly, despite this being a "4K Holy Grail" title, I'm holding off pre-ordering it in the hopes for another option. For me, it's actually a kind of Consumer Repellent. I know, it's stupid not to buy a disc because of the packaging, because we watch movies, not covers. But this is so bad, I'm past rational thought.

I wasn't planning on picking up BOTRK but this one I was considering. What was added? I thought perhaps Dolby Vision was being added, but apparently that's on the box set version already.

Its just a standalone release, which is enticing to everyone who 1) didn't want to buy 5 other films just to get this one, or 2) missed out on the Columbia Collection before it sold out.

I'm gonna be buying this set (alongside the Kwai one) just because I *know* for a fact that whenever Sony reissues the Lawrence movie, it's gonna be without that special features disc and I want it.

Went ahead and ordered this even though I have the large 50th anniversary blu-ray collectors edition from 2012 as well as that old dvd set with the nice "cloth" case.
We just bought a region free 4K player and I have very few 4K movies but this is an absolute must-have.

On a side note I looked back at my order for the 50th anniversary set and I paid $29.99 and the package artwork is a helluva lot nicer than this IMO.

"Hideous" is a word that comes to mind when I look at that steelbook

Normally I’d be all over this as I want the 4K release after a long wait. The steelbook is that bad, I’m aiming to hold out for the standard release, which will inevitably appear once they believe that most people who want this will have already snapped up the steel.

Only problem with that is that a normal edition will probably be slipless, as has become the norm from Sony. Personally I think the steelbook would look better than a slipless standard.

I'm hoping this will at least have a gloss finish , but it's a must buy 4k for me top of my wish list for ages.

Just canceled my Amazon.ca order. I don't think the price will go down before next week.
I don't know what to do with my BB.ca order, though. When pre-ordering, I forgot there would be shipping fees, but BB still has the best price, even with shipping included.
Is this the first non-BB exclusive Sony SteelBook we get here in Canada? It's hard to tell if Amazon will have enough units to drop their price.

The 50th Anniversary Box set from 2012 will be hard to top. I was hoping Sony would at least attempt to match that release for the 60th Anniversary UHD standalone edition. I just want the disc anyway - not too bothered about an ugly steelbook.

I use the 640x360 thumbnails coded into Blu-rays for my MKV backups. Which is the only reason I pay more attention than 99 percent of Blu-ray users. My bare-bones 4K player doesn't even show the thumbnails in the menu, but my PS4 does. Anyway, pretty silly of Sony to mirror the thumbnail. I did correct the thumbnail in my backup of Lawrence. Sometimes I make my own and or resize something off the internet. Other times I can't find anything so I just leave the backup without a thumbnail.
