I have never understood people's obsession with the "trilogy", but here is my answer.

At one time my favorite trilogy was the Rocky trilogy. Then it wasn't a trilogy anymore - and that is fine with me because Rocky IV is my favorite of the series.
Then it was a tie between the Die Hard trilogy and the Rambo series, but neither are trilogies anymore.

So now, and it looks like it will stand, my favorite trilogy is The Matrix series.
