Can’t argue with those numbers but they’re of the same age and stem very much from a similar horror-ish demographic. And Sony licensed out the I Know trilogy to 88 Films in the UK for their Blu-ray boxset so this franchise isn’t some golden goose that Sony have been keeping for all this time. If the situation had been reversed and I Know got licensed to Shout while Sony did The Craft themselves then I wouldn’t have been shocked by it.

The tone of the second movie is more "cheesy teen romp slasher" and this is more creepy horror. The music is better. The vibe is better. But I'm in league with anyone saying I Still Know deserves to be on the format for it's island setting and the greens and colours that will standout. Better cinematography. Better lighting. That, for sure more than the first, seems prime for HDR. We get at least a 2160p HDR stream! |

Yeah, I also always considered IKWYDLS a relatively big A movie and the latter more a B-kinda-TV movie, so I'm also not surprised at all. With the second part, that'd be another story though. And the fact that they licensed out the BD: Well, it's a BD with the same old dated master.

I thought it was truly effective in terms of it's creepy atmosphere and it remains a true favorite of mine along the veins of Scream and those horror films of the 90s.
I'm in the minority but I also enjoy the sequel despite all of its flaws (and Jack Black) and I hope that Sony gives the sequel a 4K disc release as well. |

I have the 88 films trilogy release but I'll pick this up for old times' sake. Haven't seen it in about 25 years but recall renting this from Blockbuster with my older sister when I was 10 and enjoying it. My sister had crushes on Freddie Prinze Jr and Ryan Philippe and I had crushes on Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sarah Michelle Gellar. What a cast of hotties!
![]() Would prefer the classic blue poster of the cast on the cover. That image they used of Freddie Prinze Jr looks pretty awkward. Would also buy the sequel in 4K. Jennifer Love Hewitt in that tanning bed scene. Oh boy. ![]() |

4K is the most important feature, but I'm disappointed there is still no involvement from Jennifer Love Hewitt or Sarah Michelle Gellar in the form of commentaries/interviews. JLH didn't participate in the extras for Can't Hardly Wait either, so maybe she always declines or perhaps, she never gets asked?

Saw this one in the theater with buddies in high school. It was one of the bigger ones in the post-Scream horror boom of the late 90s. Cool to see it getting a 4k release. I dont think I've seen it since it was new, but I recall it being pretty good.
I've become a bit nostalgic for movies of that era as of late. A lot of my buddies worked at the big new cinema megaplex that went in back then, so I saw just about everything of note that came out during the late 90s. I haven't really revisited too many of those movies, but with 40 looming, I guess I'm feeling a bit nostalgic for those halcyon days. I tend to gravitate more toward the 80s movies of my childhood than those of my high school/early 20s years, but I guess that's starting to change. |

I do admit to my husband when I sneak an extra movie or three into an order, after the fact, a couple he still hasn't found but they're like cheaper $5 DVD stuff, not the expensive pre-order 4k stuff. But he's normally fine with me ordering movie stuff since he does similar buying of music stuff (vinyl, guitar strings, pedals etc) What I tend to hide the most are the movies I sneak in for him and then wait to see how long it takes him to find it. He'll say he doesn't want any movies, that any money spent on that should go towards what I want, then sees I bought something fun for him and he loves it suddenly. He did demand the one version of Escape From NY because, of course, he wanted the vinyl! |

IKWYDLS placed 20th for the year and outgrossed many bigger budgeted releases that year, including Starship Troopers which Sony already released on 4K |
