How come? I’m stating what some people may argue. It’s a valid point.

Agreed to a certain extent. I would however prefer a good show with a great ending than a great show with a jump the shark sort of ending. I still enjoyed Game of Thrones and even double dipped the 4K even though the last season was what it was.

So if American Horror Story was cancelled after 8 seasons you'd be perfectly happy with owning the complete series on Blu-ray even though the story would still be incomplete?

Why would a show be cancelled after 8 seasons without a ending?

It's happened before. Legends of Tomorrow was cancelled earlier this year after 7 seasons. It ended on a cliffhanger but that didn't make me enjoy it any less.

The point of every show is entertainment. If you find it entertaining then it's not pointless to watch it or own it regardless of whether it has a conclusion or not.

Any show that I continue to watch it's because I enjoy watching it. Whether or not I see an ending never affects the enjoyment I've already experienced watching the rest of the show.
Well that’s where we differ.

Why is a bad ending better than no ending? Personally I'd much rather a show end on a good cliffhanger than a bad conclusion.

Because that’s the way entertainment works. We watch films to their conclusion. We play games to their conclusion. We read books to their conclusion. We can then then judge that complete work.
One man’s bad ending might be another’s high point.

If the conclusion is that important to you why would you watch TV shows in any form that don't have a conclusion? You shouldn't have even tried American Horror Story until the show ended.

The point of every show is to provide entertainment. If you find a show to be entertaining then it is worth watching and owning it (regardless of whether it has a conclusion or not).

You make all our hobbies sound like chores. You watch shows for years just to see the conclusion. You only play video games once because the whole point of them is apparently just to finish them. And you scold people for having a backlog because we are all apparently supposed to watch everything as quickly as possible whether we're in the mood or not.

I have never felt like I have a "backlog" to watch. That would be a burdensome feeling.

I feel like I have a bountiful buffet laid out before me every single day where I get to choose exactly what I want exactly when I want it. It's a little slice of heaven on Earth.

In all of the years that I have been collecting movies no one has ever presented me with that "argument" until you did today. Everyone I know, save one minimalist, has a large collection of something. What we enjoy varies, but we all understand and appreciate what it is to be passionate about our hobbies.

Your "valid point" is only found atop your own head.

That's exactly how I feel. I don't even keep track of what I have and haven't watched.

I generally buy in bundles faster and more often then I can complete said bundles. I don't worry about the films I haven't watched because I save a great deal of money by buying in bulk when deals present themselves.

Personally the only time I'm annoyed about buying something but not watching it is if the price drops below the price I payed and I haven't watched it yet or the price has dropped more then 3 dollars times the number of times I have watched it. That way I can account for equivalent cost of renting it and waiting till later to buy it rather then just buying it and depreciating its cost 3 dollars each time I watch it.

Once I have bought something, I don't follow the pricing of that title any further. Why would I want to do that to myself? Why court needless aggravation?

Owning a title that I want is the only justification needed for its purchase. I see zero value in doing your peculiar cost/benefit analysis.

Seasons 1, 2 and 3 of Cobra Kai have been released on Blu-Ray where you live in the UK, and season 4 is reportedly coming soon to Blu-Ray.

Cobra Kai is the property of Sony Pictures, not Netflix, so it’s likely that all of the season of the show will be released on Blu-Ray.

I’ve watched all 10 episodes of Cobra Kai season 5, if it’s not renewed for a 6th season, it won’t be a big deal, because season 5 does close the main aspects of the story, it could very easily be left there, and it would be a fine ending to the show.

To date, every season of The Walking Dead has been released on BD.

If you and others that share this way of thinking were buying the seasons of TV series that are available on Blu-Ray that you like though, it would reflect in sales figures that there is a higher interest in them being released on Blu-Ray, so the studios would have more of an incentive to release the remaining seasons on the format.

Going forward it will be for films released on BD/4K too.
