Has there been confirmation that the UK release will be a steelbook? I have mine on pre-order on Amazon UK but will be nice to know if it is since amazon.de is listed it as a steelbook there but their price is considerably dearer than the Amazon UK one.

Well Play now have two pages, the one that's been up for about a month and this new one which states it being a "Limited Edition Steelbook". It puts my Amazon pre-order in a bit of doubt now.

Yeah well.. Considering Hidden Tiger which everyone thought was a play.com exclusive is being shipped by Amazon UK as a steelbook, I wouldn't give up hope just yet.

I think you're right (it certainly doesn't say anything about it being an exclusive), although it's a bit odd if the other listing on Play turns out to be a Steelbook they are basically charging £9 quid extra for two "Art Cards".

I'm keeping my Amazon order going until it's confirmed otherwise as I jumped on-board when it was only £13:99

Actually it is only 1 pound more at the moment at 14.98 pounds. It has fluctuated from 13.99 pounds to 17.98 pounds since it was put up for preorder. I think the price will continute to fluctuate till release day and even after. Don't you just love amazon pricing practices

If only the retailers will just do the right thing by labelling all their items accurately, then we won't have to play this waiting game

I even wrote to Scanavo to tell them that amazon.de is mis-labelling several of their "MetalPak" titles with their SteelBook trademark. Their SteelBook area manager has supposedly passed my comments to their legal department to follow up with Amazon Germany but amazon.de is still listing many of their MetalPal Products as SteelBook. I hope something gets done about that.

At least this actually pretty much confirms that the UK will be getting a Gladiator Steelbook one way or the other.
