Sony will be releasing Spike Lee's School Daze on 4K (MOD) on December 12th for its 35th anniversary! The release carries over all the extras from 30th Anniversary BD, including 2 commentary tracks, and a Q&A with cast and crew.

School Daze (1988) is my personal favorite Spike Lee film with Do The Right Thing (1989) a very close second.

I would love to see Kino upgrade the Spike Lee titles they released to 4K Blu-ray as well.

That would be nice, though I do recall Kino having some sort of difficulty with Spike Lee and/or waiting a long time for him to approve the releases/record commentary tracks.

I’m a basketball junkie, so obviously He Got Game is what I am hoping for in 4k!

I know it sounds weird, but I didn’t have time to watch this when I bought it, so I skimmed the digital, and it just didn’t seem as good as Do the Right thing imo. I’ll of course have to give it a proper sit down and watch soon.

Since Sony is upgrading this, I'd love it if they'd finally put out the long-MIA "Get on the Bus" on blu ray. I have "School Daze" on blu, already, and am not 4K.

I won't hold my breath for "Girl 6", since it's with the mouse house. Maybe only if Criterion could wrestle it from them.

New Jersey Drive (exec produced by Spike L. and released through Universal) would be huge, i've been waiting forever and one of the most criminally underrated movies of the 1990s.

Yes, please. Great movie.

I've had the DVD on my Amazon wishlist forever, but haven't pulled the trigger because I'm hoping for a blu-ray at least.

I mentioned NJD to the Kino Lorber Insider and he said it was with another label. I wonder who has it to release?

I was more a fan of Everyone’s a Wally and Jack the Nipper. Much better than modern, identikit CoD games or the yearly FIFA Lootbox editions.

I saw this when it first came out with my friend who was in a fraternity. Great dialogue! I look forward to the 4k UHD.
