OK. But only a few of the hundreds of WBShop-era titles have had drops on AZ and they weren't the eye-opening discounts we've seen with some of the more recent titles. 98% of them have been ones that came out after WBShop stopped carrying WACs. So the odds of Gaslight or Demon Seed plunging to $8.99 over a few days are infinitesimal.

Yeah, I agree. Again, I wasn't disputing that nor disagreeing with your contention, I was only joking around. Any reductions on the older Archive titles are rare and up until recently never happened at all on Amazon, so it's nice to finally see them coming down to more manageable prices.

Be sure to check out non-Amazon sources. I bought the Jazz Singer Blu set from Hamiltonbook for $9.99 last year.

It does seem like the older releases rarely get discounted. I sold The Thin Man thinking there would be an eventual collection; now I haven't found a good price for it. I've been waiting on A Night at the Opera and Naked Spur for years now. These missed the last WBShop sale I bought from and never seem to get a break in price.

I remember George saying there are no plans for any WAC box sets in the future. I have been getting the Thin Man films individually when they dip in price

I've had all The Thin Man Blu-rays for a long time now EXCEPT Shadow of the Thin Man, which has still never hit my $11 trigger point.

Be careful with that DVD set. It was released during the infamous 2006-2008 era of WB DVDs with significant quality control issues. My copy rotted, and I know a Jolson enthusiast who bought two copies. When he discovered the first had rotted, he opened the still shrink-wrapped back-up to discover that had rotted as well. That said, it was handsomely assembled set so the "swag" may still be worth the ten dollars.

It was a used copy that was tested by the seller. The discs are in great shape and play just fine. Got lucky.

Rot is unfortunate when it happens. The digibook is worth something, so if rot happens, why wouldn't one buy a new, non-digibook blu-ray to slip into the digibook case?

Sounds great. There's also the possibility that the set could be a later pressing.

If you get the set cheap enough, that sounds totally reasonable. Again, it's a nice looking set with some nice photos and booklets.

One other minor issue - the DVD does a minor sound synch issue that was corrected for the blu-ray.

Thanks, Yando. I snagged Storm Warning but I wish I had waited on Ziegfeld Girl. I'm hoping for some BF deals, too.

Yeah the wait for that one was frustrating.
I finally broke down and threw it into the last MovieZyng sale order I made.

Which, speaking of trigger points, is what dictates mine- anything cheaper than the shipped cost of a pro-rated title from a MZ sale.
Essentially anything under $12.49 usually gets me to bite. At least, if I want it bad enough.

Right now that applies to only a couple things that have been high up on my list- Angel Face and Land Of The Pharaohs.
There are another half dozen or so after that which I look forward to picking up eventually, but not until I'm either more caught up on my unwatched pile, or the price is more in the sub $12 range (tax included).

Posted this in the WAC thread - not Amazon, but I figure it'd still be appreciated. MovieZyng is having a WAC Blu-ray sale right now - buy 2 get 1 free. No idea how long the sale lasts, no timeframe was listed, but it's live now. Sale link below:

There seems to be lots of sales on WAC today. The one that jumped out at me the most was Supergirl @ $13.99 which is the lowest its ever been I believe. But also as a recommendation, Flight of Dragons is only $12.49 (but I already own it) which is probably the cheapest it's been since the 4 for $44 sales.
