I am not trying to argue, not denying anything here but my question to you is - what is imminent? the louder voices in the movement have always put a timeframe on it ... all of those deadlines always come and go with no noticeable consequence.
I absolutely get the tactic of raising awareness, sounding the alarms but at a point it comes off as the boy who cried wolf and the players along the way may start off virtuous but along the way it goes from movement to identity until just devolving into grift - a combination of making a living off of the movement financially and for social currency.
Like others have said, we as individuals can only do so much however its big corporations and certain countries that just aren't doing their part.

I really enjoyed The Big Short but it was the worst thing that happened to McKay if you were a fan of his earlier sillier (superior) comedy films. Ever since the success of that film he has taken that same smug, look-how-clever-I-am approach to subsequent films. The only positive I can take away from Vice was Bale's performance. Don't Look Up was straight trash. I have zero faith in any project from him going forward. As someone else in the thread said with him its bludgeon you over the head with message first, maybe sprinkle a bit of narrative in if there's any room left.
