I really wish this one got a blu ray release.

Amazon Prime has it available currently and in HD for the first time. The show was actually animated and rendered in high definition back during the original production but was never released that way until recently. Hopefully there will be a blu ray release with all the content from the DVDs ported over at some point. Those DVDs are OOP now.

I really enjoyed this series and what they were trying to accomplish. They took ideas and concepts from the various MOTU lore and tried to build something cohesive with all that. Shame they didn’t get to do more, the show was really building towards something exciting. Personally it’s my favorite of all the MOTU franchise.

A simple Google search would have told you that Mill Creek was the last to release the series on DVD and they handle a lot of Mattel Entertainment releases in today's market.

Does not mean they still have the video rights, also Mattel sold the rights to He-Man back in the 90's they just have first dips to get to make the toys.

He-Man - the IP - is owned by Mattel and they never sold it to anyone. They license out the rights to make cartoons, books, etc. with it. In the 90's, Filmation - who made the He-Man and She-Ra cartoons - was sold to Hallmark Entertainment, but the He-Man cartoons fully belonged to Mattel as their property, even though Filmation kept all the master materials in their own storage, which were later discarded by Hallmark Entertainment.

More then likely this will be just another animated show that will never get a blu ray release....like so many. Well at least it got a complete series DVD release, that is more then most cartoons get.

Dang this show is going to be 23 years old this year.....I feel old. The original show is more then 40 years old....now I feel really old.
