I have to agree that the strong 3D combined with the effective compositions make Amityville 3D one of the best 3D films of the 80's, and even now stands out. It's a shame the 3D Film Archive didn't get to work on this one. |

If you have never seen Revenge of the Creature in 3D I suggest watching it and you will see that Universal Studios took a page out of their past and went for a fun Saturday afternoon popcorn flick. Jaws 3-D was never supposed to be a masterpiece like the original Jaws it was just supposed to be entertaining and fun...and it was! Also did you know that in 1983 Jaws 3-D was out selling Return of the Jedi when it was pulled from theaters? This is a fact, many people believe there was a back room deal between Universal and Lucas to pull Jaws 3-D because Lucas was embarrassed that his new Star Wars movie was being beaten at the box office by a Jaws sequel. Jaws 3-D could have (and would have) continued to make money and may have been considered a Box Office success had it not been pulled early. |

I watched this last night and I really enjoyed it. I was expecting it to be awful but the 3D was terrific and I thought it wasn't a bad sequel. There were some particularly strong scenes, including the opening, Candy Clark's two big scenes in the house and in the car, and then when Tess Harper sees Lori Loughlin walking up the stairs. Very atmospheric and the 3D pop-outs were fun.
