Default Cost

I am also in the UK & to be honest I buy most of my discs from Amazon.com because of the costs involved.
For example I recently bought Disturbia - cost $27
I also bought The Island in the UK - cost £25 ($50) almost twice the cost !

So if I were you I would buy as many discs as you can from the USA it works out 2 for 1 at UK prices & Amazon.com are very good.

I though Amazon.com won't ship to UK?

yeah they ship to the UK.

the way i work is to buy any disc thats not region locked form the USA. If its region locked it comes from the UK.

personaly i think its a good idea to buy from the usa as thats the main market. If the USA maintains its Blu dominance, then the majour studios will base any changes on how its doing there. the rest of the regions tend to come second in the decision making.

blu wins in the USA, it wins everywhere.

also most euro HD-DVD fans seem to import, well its much cheaper to buy from the usa, so i do my bit to counter this move.

lol...so that's how we have a 2 to 1 margin in the US, most HD-DVDs are import from the US to the rest of the world.

It would be nice to see a world wide sale chart.

exactly, every HDdvd fan i know imports from the USA via Amazon (boosts the figures for HDDVD as well, infact some of the euro forums urge supporters to buy there HDDVDs this way).

Shame neilson cant remove imports from the figures, i reckon there would be quite a dip.

The war is in the US, like it or not is the only market that matters in this

So yes, buying discs from US retailers, if you buy online buy Amazon, is what counts
