I don't think it was ever cut for the boat scene, but you never know. Look at The French Connection and taking liberties with the script. No point erasing the past. That's just unnecessary meddling imho. Same with things like horse falls. It doesn't make those scenes easy to stomach, but it was how things were done. Why erase it from memory as if it never happened. Same goes for Cannibal Holocaust. That one I prefer to watch minus the animal cruelty but it's nice the option is there to see it as it was originally made, whether you agree with it or not, it's good to have the choice and to make our own decisions, not having them made for you by a faceless board or corporation. |
