I have the same feelings as yourself regarding the first movie. Please chime in with your "review" after viewing as I'm not sold that it will come close to the 1st.

The first one is one of my favorite horror flicks from the past 5-10 years. Completely blew my expectations. Excited for this one.

It doesn't reinvent the wheel - it's basically a bigger, better remake of the original - but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm a sucker for films about self-hatred and the pressures of fame and people losing their grip on reality, and there's plenty of really cool camerawork in it, like Parker Finn was temporarily possessed by Sam Raimi. Naomi Scott's also brilliant. Check it out!

Really enjoyed this one. Just didn't enjoy my theatrical presentation. The projection was a bit curved on the screen, and the volume was way too low.

These won't be a problem in most screenings I'm sure, and it definitely won't be on home video. Even still, this was a great sequel. Bigger budget with better acting and more refined directing, even if it's just another "new case" version of the original.

This was infinitely better than the first, and I really enjoyed the first! Saw it in a Dolby Cinema. First time ever going to one. Drove 2 hours to get there and, I gotta say, totally worth it! Regular theaters will never live up to that again. The picture was actually as good as my OLED!

The first standard 4K UHD didn’t even come with a Blu-ray, but this does. Lol.

Checking it out soon. Can’t wait.
