The BBC used to be a great institution but they have wasted so much of the licence fee payers money and with scandal after scandal concerning top earners in the distant and very recent past it’s only a matter of time before the UK government insists on the corporation going down the subscription route.

I think they know not many people would subscribe, they are getting desperate.

The BBC does have Britbox. I’m no idea how successful that is but has been criticised for being too woke, rightly so in my honest opinion. I don’t watch a lot of stuff on the Beeb nowadays which is a shame.

Had BritBox till the end of 2024. Was very annoyed they have added a BBC bug in the upper left to newer content. ATV+ discontinued till something new is added. Liked the new nature series with Hugh Bonneville narrating. If Silo did not have Rebecca Ferguson would pass on it.

Just signed up with Paramount+ for Landman, Tulsa King, Dexter (new series) and other content. With a VA (Army) discount this makes this service pretty inexpensive. Netflix and Disney does not offer any discounts to vets.

It’s now part of ITVX mate, they use it as part of the premium no ads option.

Cheers for rectifying. I’ve never used ITVX premium in fact my terrestrial TV viewing in general apart from the odd football match has gone down so much I don’t know why I bother with the licence.

Sky stream is my most used TV viewing platform so that does the job in between physical media watching.

Me too mate, although I have Sky Q. We are getting HBO Max (or just Max now) and Warner Discovery in 2026, free with ads apparently.

Not bad that.

How is the picture quality for stream? I heard it’s slightly better quality for actual Sky content than Sky Q.

Every so often I click on one or several of the Home ● News ● Movies ● Blu-ray ● 4K Movies ● 3D Movies ● Deals links and sometimes I am overwhelmed with all the info that's available for disc. A tremendous amount of text, links, graphics and other data that is constantly changing. Hats off to all the folks that keeps this site going and updated.

Tariffs on Mexico have been paused for one month. See pretty much any news site for details.

In a couple of hours I am heading to St. Louis. I have my hotel room booked. Details below.

[Show spoiler]I have to be at the hospital at the painfully early time of 6:30 AM Tuesday. Tomorrow is the day that I have my Ultranav/ MRI guided transperineal biopsy and a cystoscopy both performed while under general anesthesia. The biopsy is to determine the grade and aggressiveness of the highly suspected cancer as seen on my previous MRI. My urologic surgeon puts the odds of my having a high grade aggressive prostate cancer at 85%.

The Cystoscopy is to examine and biopsy the bladder and the urethra. It is expected that the cancer has spread beyond the prostate, so these are going to be checked among other areas.

The recovery afterwards takes longer than the procedures, so I have been told to expect to be at the hospital all day. I may be admitted if there are complications.

If discharged, I will have to stay with someone for 24 hours. I can expect lifting restrictions to not exceed 10 pounds for 5-7 days. I will have to drink lots of fluids to avoid blood clotting in the urethra; if that happens I will earn myself a catheter. Sitting down will be painful for a few days, too.

In other developments, I now suffer from constant nausea all day, all night, every single day. Eating is a chore that only makes the nausea worse. Keeping the food down is another problem. I have been enduring this for 3 weeks now.

I have been prescribed a medication to fight it, but I can not start taking it until after tomorrow's procedures. This medication has heart arrhythmias as a rare, but possible side effect. All of my medications, even my prescribed vitamins, have been paused.

I have 7 pages of pre-op instructions to follow. The worst part is that I have to give myself an enema two hours before going to bed tonight. I am not even allowed to wear deodorant tomorrow.

I have a long, difficult, and smelly day ahead of me tomorrow. It will probably take a couple of weeks to get the results from the pathologist, so add waiting and wondering to the mix.

Thank you for reading and I hope that I did not make anyone . I will post again when I can.

Vilya, you are mentally one STRONG dude! What you are you are experiencing would be a challenge for a well person. Here is hoping for the best possible outcome for you.

I well remember waiting for the test results for pancreas cancer to come back. I knew if it were positive I had only about 2% at most of surviving this cancer. I was one of the lucky ones because my test were negative. Pancreatitis was a very painful ordeal for me.

What an ordeal, sending good thoughts your way. Don’t hesitate to pm me if you need to get stuff off your chest.

Take care and safe journey.

That Warner Discovery sounds good.

I’ve had Sky Stream for 6 months and the PQ looks great on my 8 year old 55” Samsung TV. I’ve had Virgin, Sky Q and BT in the past and it’s as good as Sky Q and better than Virgin and BT IMO. The Main Event UHD channel is fabulous and the audio seems crisper too even on the Samsung which is not the best sounding TV I’ve had.

YouTube and Spotify are easy to access and look good too and the Sky Sports+ app is handy with a lot of football matches to choose from included in the subscription.

The best thing about Stream is you don’t have a dish and just one cable from the small puck to the plug socket and it’s delivered through the post and very easy to install and set up, even for a technophobe like me

Thanks, I got Sky glass for the bedroom but had to send it back as it always needed resetting, I have heard better things about Sky Stream and your opinion ties in to what I have heard, thanks.

We beat the Boro tonight by the way!

The BBC themselves often claim they are a much loved organisation. Well let's see if they have the bottle to put this to the test and offer their services via a subscription. However I suspect they won't. In this day and age, I really find it incredible we're still being expected to pay for a TV licence.

Sky Glass is a bit ropey so I’ve heard from folk who know Sky engineers.

Yes I know, I watched the game as a neutral. Good game, well done.
