HMV online know their customers, every BD purchased lately that came with a slipcover had the HMV order sticker on the cellophane wrap instead of the slip. Excellent form guys.

True, but unfortunately, if the stock comes from a shop they'll take zero care in removing the price stickers, often taking big chunks of the 'gloss' from the slip.

This was the case with a recent purchase of Murder On The Orient Express & Death On The Nile from Studio Canal's 'Vintage Classics' range.

Guess I shouldn't complain really. I wasn't expecting them to come with slips, & Evil Under The Sun didn't come with one at all.

...a lot of people used a product called Goo Gone back in the hayday of slipcover collecting.

These are the last slipcovers I need. I’ve been after them pretty much since I started collecting and I’ve never had any luck, so one last push if anyone has them or can put me in the right direction.

...did the UK release of 'The Martian' (Extended Cut) come with a slipcover? I know the cover/info page on this site says it had one but I have never seen one...

Dont think it did but you can get a custom one from ebay ( looks pretty good imho) from inkycustoms for just over 9 quid.

I bought two 4k Slipcovers from inkycustoms and I thought they were really good tbh. It was for life of pi and The Martian.

I'm basically after most of the Phase 4 & 5 Marvel 4K UK Blu-ray slips in mint condition.
I already have Black Widow all others needed if anyone has some spares.

Also, does anyone in the UK do custom slips?

I’ve seen a copy, but I don’t know if it was an inkycustoms one but unlike the one they’re currently selling, this had + Digital HD on it. It definitely wasn’t an American copy either.

No slips on Smile 2 or The Wild Robot. Looks like Universal have gone back to bare releases again

Smile 2 4K release (not sure about the standard bluray release) does have a slipcover.

Apparently the slipcover was incorrectly printed saying it also includes a bluray disc, when it does not, and HMV were told to remove all the slipcovers.

A YouTuber says they are being kept behind the counter at HMV and you have to ask for one and that you acknowledge there is no bluray included in the case.

I was at HMV in London last week and there were tons of slipcovers in-store, so I think they're not taking it too strictly.

I think it’s difficult to rely on both HMV and Amazon these days with regards to slip covers. I ordered four 4K releases from Amazon recently, 2 of which should have had slipcovers (as newer releases). The over full cardboard packaging arrived unsealed with no slipcovers on any of the four. Compare that with Stars Wars 1-6 + Roque One + Speed in the Summer of 2023 during the 2 for £24 promotion. All 8 discs came with slip covers. It was a similar story with HMV but I did get the occasional scuff or dinged cases (from store stock).

No slip with Venom Last Dance. I only preordered to get a slip like the previous two. Wish I had not bothered and waited for a sale price

Amazon France looks like your best chance for any slipcover with the latest Venom release.
If the picture is legit of course.

Smile 2 blu ray does have a slip, mine shipped from HMV with one.
Guessing it's hit or miss, or just crazy low print run like Renfield.

Finally got my holy grail slip of The Grinch Triple Play. Now if I can find The Holiday Triple Play and The Martian 4K, that’s my entire collection complete.

There isn't a slip for The Martian 4k (UK).

This was when Fox didn't do slips for 4k - The Revenant, Deadpool, X-Men etc.
