Looks I'm going to double-dip with the 4K (I have Second Sight's LE already) and triple-dip on this film in general it seems. Or even quadruple, when I finally get my hands on the Umbrella release.

I wonder if the steelbook will have a different design from the blu-ray steelbook released last year.

Placeholder listing just added at Amazon. Release date is August 5th. I was starting to wonder if this was ever going to be released.

Good news for anti-importers but there have been several nice Collector's Editions from many countries already. This is OK for those that just want a generic US release I guess.

I wonder if it'll be the same as the blu-ray steelbook from last year or if they'll give it new art and physical extras this time.

A regular release would be great if it's the same disc(s). I have the Second Sight release so I'd consider grabbing this just for the different extras.

I have the Second Sight 4K too. The LE specifically. I also have the blu-ray steelbook that was released last year. There are differences with the extras between them. It would be nice if more or new extras were added with this 4K.

I think the umbrella release had an alternate cut of the film that featured only the broadcast portions of the movie. That would be a fun extra to have for the 4k.

I've been wanting to grab the Umbrella release for the broadcast cut. Since its an "Easter egg" on that release, it may be exclusive to them though. I'd love for it to be included here.

I thought I'd drop by on this thread to mention a user on Reddit, who has it in hand, confirmed that it is SDR with no new extras. So the Second Sight edition is the best one to get, with more extras and HDR/DV.

Here is where I got the info:

No collectibles/trinkets in my copy. Also this version is just SDR as far as I can tell. Seriously this release reeks of nothing more than a cash grab by Shudder. Had I known no DV and a barebones steel I would have just ordered the standard Second Sight release. Save your money. The steelbook is nothing special.

Thankfully, Amazon and the notorious "we'll email once we have a shipping date" was received prior to shipping.

Of course, I would have returned knowing HDR was absent, but receiving the shipping date for the ANOES steelbook collection was definitely a shocker.

Excellent, I am glad it is SDR. It was originally released as SDR on all streaming platforms, when the filmmakers could have released in HDR if they wanted to - but clearly they wanted SDR as that was the final release. The Second Sight DV grade was a home video marketing add-on (which works obviously, lol)

So Shudder don't even do 1080p on their streaming, and when they do a 4K release, there's no HDR.

What is their problem? Is annoying horror fans their kink?

Looks like I will buy the standard UK 4K. I also like the cover much better on the UK.

The When Evil Lurks and Clown in a Cornfield 4Ks from Shudder also lack the HDR/DV. They seem to be lacking effort over here compared to the Second Sight releases. This steelbook could be aimed at the fans that don't pay attention to the specs for HDR/DV. I haven't seen any reviews for this yet.

Here's a photo on eBay of the back of the J-card, confirming the specs and lack of HDR/DV:
