Always had a soft spot for the series so would definitely double-dip if this ever got a proper 3d release at some point.

Just won an auction for an alleged “properly formatted 3D blu-ray” of this movie. Really hope it’s legit!

Has only been released streaming 3D. Never on frame-packed Blu-ray 3D.

Right, so what I’m expecting is essentially the version from 3DGO or something, just someone managed to get it into a file type that they were then able to get onto a Blu-ray Disc. It was listed as just a disc, no artwork or anything, which I knew didn’t exist anyway. As long as this disc actually plays it in 3D (not anaglyphic) I’ll be happy

If something is listed as just a disc with no artwork or anything, then it's an obvious bootleg. Please don't discuss bootlegs here.

How cool would it be if a company like Shout Factory was able to do a Jackass box set, around the home media release of Jackass 4! It would have the first two movies, as well as 2.5 on blu-ray for the first time, and a true 3D version of the third one. Either way, I hope that when the 4th movie gets closer, it prompts paramount to put out at least the first two on blu-ray.

On top of that, maybe we could even see Jackass 3.5 IN 3D!

I emailed Shout Factory about a Friday the 13th-style Jackass Collection to coincide with Jackass Forever next year that could include a 3D Blu-ray for Jackass 3D. I got this response:

Thanks for the suggestion—it's a great idea! I'll pass along this information to our acquisitions team.

Best,

Customer Service
Shout! Factory
If you guys have time, send an email their way! Maybe they'll make some magic happen again.

Not only do they have no quality control as far as scratched discs go, Shout Factory have messed up three 3D releases in a row - they are literally the WORST possible company to be asking to release 3D content.

I like seeing epic stunts, but I can't get into these movies other than the Bad Grandpa skits, as most of these skits are pretty gross with this cast. I got the last Jackass 3D with the anaglyph red/cyan 3D glasses and the 3D was decent from what I remember, but the movie for me anyway, I won't watch more than once.

I share your concerns about Shout Factory's quality control. Who else is there to ask?

Of course Kino Lorber has never let us down, but all their 3D Blu-ray titles have been vintage or foreign arthouse. Jackass 3D is neither.

There's Random Space Media, but so far all of their 3D titles are from Sony. Paramount isn't one of their distribution partners, and there's still many unreleased 3D titles from Sony (or their other partners, Universal and Disney) for RSM to pursue before initiating an entirely new distribution relationship.

Vinegar Syndrome got in the 3D game last year, but like Kino Lorber they're focused on vintage titles.

I emailed Paramount's Customer Service, they responded with a terse message claiming that 3D Blu-rays are no longer viable because manufacturers don't make the tvs or the blu-ray players anymore. The only bit of non-misinformation they provided was that they couldn't have been less interested in getting Friday the 13th Part 3 on 3D Blu-ray, and that Shout Factory are the ones who made it happen.

I'm not sure there's a better candidate for getting Jackass 3D on disc than Shout Factory. It already fits their business model for releasing franchise boxsets that include the third entry in 3D, as they've done with the Friday the 13th Collection and the Amityville Trilogy.

My hope is that there's a lower margin for error with Jackass 3D than F13 Part 3 or Amityville 3D, as a 3D master already exists and has been sporadically available on streaming. All they'd have to do is put that master on a disc.

Just watched a newer upscaled version of this. The quality is great, almost native. I only intended to pop it in to check out the 3D and I ended up watching the whole movie! A lot of the scenes are filmed native and the depth and pop out is immaculate. Some things pop out of the screen that you wouldn’t even want to! There’s plenty of 3D eye candy here (even if some of it is gross). It’s unbelievable this never got an official 3D release, but what I have is incredibly close to it, and I took the liberty of taking the 3D DVD out of my Jackass case and throwing it away so I could put in the proper 3D version, just as it should have been at release

Many Alamo Drafthouse theaters have posted showtimes for several 3D screenings in September. My local Alamo is screening Jackass 3D on Monday 9/12.

Doesn't look like Paramount will ever release the 3D version of this and have reserved it for VR devices like the Apple Vision Pro even if I had the money would never support the Apple device
So for anyone who has watched the Anaglyph 3D version on Blu-Ray of this film is it worth the money?

If you can tolerate the colors of the paper glasses like red/blue. IMO no movie is worth in anaglyph, its stereo 3D or bust.

I haven’t seen Jackass 3 specifically in anaglyph. I will say that the more time goes on, the more impressed I become with anaglyph. I used to refuse to watch ir point blank… but being able to view 3D on any screen or even on paper is pretty darn useful. I use it for 3D video editing and have no issues. I have even watched some of the 3DFA movies in anaglyph so I could share them with family on vacation.

That said, if you’re determined to watch Jackass 3 3D one way or the other, I’d find the full-color side-by-side version that’s floating around out there. Don’t like recommending that but it is what it is in this case.

I wish it were not so, but I have to agree - the bootlegged versions are infinitely superior to anything Paramount put out on disc.
