80's Cartoon series on Blu Ray?!

Now with the Chip N' Dale's RR blu ray release there is hope...for the Disney animated ones from the 80's at least.

I am happy we got some Hanna Barbara stuff on blu ray (with one of them Thundarr) but it makes me wonder what will happen with any releases with the changes in ownership/CEO.

I'd love to have the original Inspector Gadget show on Blu-Ray; it was one of my faves as a kid. But its sad to think that may not happen, if the studios destroyed the original cels.

Yeah it is sad that that many of the original prints are lost/destroyed for many shows.

It was done by the same people - at the same time - behind GI JOE, Transformers, and some other shows, with Hasbro controlling the toys and such, so likely Hasbro also controls the actual source.

I can't remember if I had watched Visionaries when it first came out or later on.

Discotek has it, but hasn't put it out on BD, though a Japanese release happened years ago. Hopefully, they will put it out on BD or SD-BD, though SD-BD is more likely.

TMS has stuff in their portfolio that you wouldn't call Anime, but technically is and was on US TV in the 80's, so it's possible.

With all the changes going on with Warner Bros. who knows if and when we will get any more animated stuff(80's or otherwise).

It was a miracle Disney released Chip N' Dale's RR on blu ray, really wish they would release there other animated series. I don't like any of their live action remakes of their animated movies/TV series but if it would get the originals on blu ray then I say bring it on.

It is cool we are getting HannaBarbara stuff from different time periods(including the 80's) on blu ray but would be cool to get the non-HannaBarbara 80's stuff as well.
